All-new Eversolo play streaming amplifier!

Look at John Dark, he posted this week a video of Eversolo Play, where he is listening to the music through Eversolo Play and the audio is coming out through Eversolo, but the cover art can be taken to the TV... I don't know how he did it...
Maybe the smart TV just has the Eversolo Connect program installed?

Good afternoon,

I have a PX8 s2 and would like to connect it to the Eversolo Play. What would be the best way? Via coax or USB? And what type of cable or adapters? Or is there a better solution?

Got Yesterday Eversolo Play... Total dissapointment. Useless with active speakers. Long story short - staying with Wiim Ultra. Maybe this is reason the list below is more "comparision" with WiimUltra (not amp - I do use KEF LSX II + REL S/510 for my home office desktop setup)

Positives:
+Screen
+Build
+Apple Music integration.

Negatives:
-Control app is non intuitive
-Volume knob does not has play/pause function (very usefull on Wiim when getting a work call, quick way to pause music)
-Lack of outputs. Is it so hard to add optical out?!
-No autosense on optical input. (havent tried HDMI tbh)
-Almost no customization options in control app e.g. set of favorite custom internet radio stations on main screen
-When using coax otput (to active speakers) - Subwoofer out port is disabled. Should be an option for user to decide.
-No options to set custom volume level per input source (internal player or optical in)

And tbh I believe is not an end yet, its only frustration of few hours with Eversolo Play. If I wouldn have tried WiimUltra, maybe I would quite happy with EP. But now EP is ages behind WiimUltra. To whom Apple music is a must I suggest buy 3rd generation of AppleTV (20eur something) and plug it via optical input to WiimUltra. You will have lossless Airplay1 connection between iPhone and A:TV.

Thanx for reading, hopefully I didnt offended anyone :)
Sorry for my english, not my mothers tongue.

^yeah the non ability to use the sub output with the coax digital is why I didn’t buy it either. I was planning to use it with active Dynaudio plus a sub

You chose an amplifier to use with active loudspeakers?

Well it’s not just an amplifier is it?
It’s a preamp, streamer, has room correction, eq and numerous other features including a CD player.
On top of that, I’m sure I’m not the only person who owns a pair of active speakers AND a pair of passive speakers.
There’s no reason they should not be able to run the sub output at the same time as coax out. Wiim can do it at half the price.

The real comparison here should be with the Win Amp Ultra that does not have neither the optical not the coaxial output.

No the real comparison can be with both.
Eversolos output options are better than Wiim amp. I would buy the Eversolo over the Wiim for that reason.

But Wiim has software on the ultra that can access both the coax and sub output at the same time.

I’d buy the Ultra over the Eversolo for that.

Why can’t eversolo’s software team do that?
What is the benefit of not allowing the sub and coax to output at the same time?

If Eversolo made a firmware update I’d Ben back to muting an Eversolo CD. Going to sit it out a few months and see how it develops.

I shan’t be advising my active speakers customers to buy a power amp.

What if they also have a pair of passives?

The Eversolo is almost perfect.
I can switch between Coax output for my actives and speaker output for my passives.
Just hoping for sub integration with the coax.

I always advise a power amplifier with passive speakers.
All of the features you require are catered for by Eversolo’s non power amp products.
Keith

I see. So I need more than one box in your solution and I will need to pay for an amplifier and a streamer spearately? And buy a CD player as well.

Eversolo streamers are more expensive than the Play. Plus I’d have the cost of a separate amplifier and a CD player on top of that. 3 separate products and more expensive.

You aren’t a hifi salesman by any chance are you? ;-)

Surely just updating the firmware so that coax and sub output can work at the same time is a better solution than buying 3 separate boxes for more money. The Wiim Ultra couldn’t do it when it was released but was added by firmware update.

Hello!
Is it possible to output the Eversolo Play DAC output to an external amplifier?
I understand that such an output isn't officially supported. Is there a way to modify it myself (by creating an analog output from the built-in DAC)?
Good afternoon!I've already asked this question, but I'll try again to get an answer. Is there a solution to the previously asked question?

Hi all -

I was set on buying the DMP-A6, but then realized it had no analog in for my turntable (I have a good phono preamp I like). I looked at various options and they were all analog to digital converters that seemed to be hit and miss.

The next step up would be the DMP-A8 which has the analog connections.

I was planning on using whichever I bought with a Buckeye NCx500 amp.

Instead of spending $2k for the A8 and $1K for the Buckeye, could I instead buy the Play for about $600, use the coaxial or usb out to a good DAC and then connect the DAC to the Buckeye making the Play a sort of mini A8 and saving $1k in the process?

(I know Wiim is an option but I'm looking at Eversolo because of the Apple Music integration.)

Are there any caveats I should consider with this? Will I still be able to control the volume via the Play through coax/usb?

If this would work, are there any DACs someone would recommend for this?

I bought the DMP A6. It has a pretty decent dac. Because I also have a turntable and phono pre-amp, I paired it with Schiit Feya S (now Kara) pre-amp. Quite happy with the combo and I don'thave to worry about digital volume mishaps from using dac as pre-amp.

Just to be clear, I don't think the Eversolo app is bad. It's quite good overall. But the WiiM app has some nice features not available in the Eversolo, like high and low pass for mains and sub.
Other than WiiM, are there any other similar network streamers with built in amp that offer adjustable high pass filter for mains, in the same price range?

NAD C700. beware their software dev teams are quite fond of turning paying customers into disgruntled beta-testers.

Thanks. I should have clarified that I'm looking for something in the same price range as Wiim Amp Ultra.
