All-new Eversolo play streaming amplifier!

I dont think that was the target. This is more of the low WAF crowd that want better sound that from a Sound Bar.

It does have it. Not many details, but it does. Its more like a computer CD drive , which is fine as all you want to do is rip, archive and use the files.

With a decent HP output it would be a real AIO.

Will this amp be able to drive my Q Acoustics 3010c speakers? They are not very efficient, 85 dB, 80W in and the impedance dips to 3.7 ohms.
I will use 3010c's as a desktop setup for near field listening tho.

85 dB 4 Ohm is mainstream, so should be no problem for any seriously designed amplifier.

That's what I figured but then I've heard people saying "you need at least 100W per channel because you won't get full potential out of the speakers because of this and that..." and I'm new into all this and don't want to waste money on a big powerful amp for my desktop setup. Thank you.

I kind of wish I'd seen this before I ordered a couple WiiM Amp Pros. The WiiM amp pro has all the features I need (I'm replacing a set of 5 Sonos Connect Amps from 2010) for whole house audio, and they seem to match-up in terms of output power with 60 Watts at 8ohms, and I don't need the screen as all the units go in a rack in the basement. Is there any reason to expect the Eversolo Play amplifier/DAC is substantially better than the WiiM Amp Pro, or should I just enjoy the $230 / unit savings of the WiiM? Are there any advantages of their app?

Well it's the math, this one is $699. A Wiim Ultra is $329 and you need to add an AMP. Depending on the Power you need, and this one pumps out 60w at 8ohm. So you would need to spend on a Wiim Vibelink $299 or Outlaw audio 2220 2 for $699, or Fosi Audio Monoblocks 2 for $370. So you end up paying at a minimum $640. For $60 more you get an all in one with a better interface, less cables and hassle. So that is why.
What about the Wiim Amp all in one for $300? Half the price of this Eversolo: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...ds/wiim-amp-streaming-amplifier-review.52372/

Or the announced Wiim Amp Ultra? Maybe that would compete more with this Eversolo? https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/wiim-amp-ultra-performance-meets-precision.7167/

I think there is zero reason to expect the Eversolo Play to outperform the WiiM Amp Pro in any way that would make a tangible difference. The Amp Pro's DAC is transparent. Both WiiM and Eversolo amps output 60W at 8ohms. Both have essentially the same inputs/outputs.

I have a WiiM Ultra and an Eversolo DMP-A6 hooked up to a Rotel preamp in one of my systems. I kept both because I couldn't decide between them -- I like them both a lot. The Eversolo is a more aesthetically pleasing unit -- has more heft, nicer LCD screen, XLR outs. But does it outperform the WiiM Ultra? In absolutely no way that I can perceive. From another standpoint, the WiiM's app edges out the Eversolo app on my Android device, in terms of functionality and ease of use and presentation.

I have a WiiM Amp Pro hooked up in a different system. Would I take an Eversolo Play if someone handed it to me? Sure -- based on my experience with the DMP A-6, it's almost certainly going to be a great product. But I'm not going to purchase one because it won't do anything the Amp Pro doesn't already do.

Thanks, good to know the WiiM app is better than Eversolo, and based on the freatures I’m interested in the WiiM Amp Pro fits the requirements and looks apples to apples on par from what I can tell. Thanks for your confirmation.

Just to be clear, I don't think the Eversolo app is bad. It's quite good overall. But the WiiM app has some nice features not available in the Eversolo, like high and low pass for mains and sub. I just find the user experience with the WiiM app a bit more intuitive and appealing than the Eversolo.

As an erstwhile Bluesound Node user, I think the WiiM and Eversolo apps both beat the BluOS app, which I found clunky and bland.

You can't expect a 'high and low pass' available in an app of a gear that doesn't support that because of lacking corresponding outputs (A6).

The Wiim Amp Ultra maybe a good option, but the interface and screen on the Eversolo is superior. Or at least seems that way. We will get more info when these are tested. However, 100W from a TPA3255 which maxes out at 150w, ehhh we'll see it says dual chips.

TPA3255=Q1 Spec from TA.

While I don't disagree with your assessment I do disagree with the previous statement of "Wiim killer"

Sure, but I would suspect that anyone looking at a Wiim Ultra (no amp) will consider or even chose this one. If the Ultra Amp arrives and measuers does good (the Play has not been tested either), I may be even tempted as I skew toward paying less.

The WiiM Amp Pro comes out in Q3 and that has 100w at 8ohm.

Why do you think the Eversolo has a better interface? Do you mean the screen? Because the WiiM software is regarded as industry leading. Plus the WiiM forum gives users access to loads of ongoing beta releases to try out new features and then WiiM releases new features regularly. It's difficult to see how Eversolo can match that as they have been well behind in that respect until now.

The function that really has me interested is that the Play has both analogue speaker outputs and a digital coax. That means I can hook up my passive speakers and my active Dynaudio speakers that have a direct digital input. I’m not sure if anything else this affordable has those two features?

T8 Pure Transport as well…

The T8 Pure Transport features isolated outputs including SFP optical module, USB Audio, HDMI-IIS, Coaxial, Optical, AES, and EUB interfaces. Equipped with an ultra-precision femtosecond-grade master clock, it delivers bit-perfect digital signals to external DACs.
If the upcoming Eversolo T8 Transport only passes Dolby Atmos (Amazon Music Unlimited) to my Anthem AVM 90, I'm probably in. The DAC on the AVM 90 is superb. That's the only reason I didn't buy the A6 GEN 2. Only up to 5.1.

I'm interested in replacing my wiim ultra, teac cd player, dac and integrated amp with the ES Play - I think I would use the coax out to go to my headphone amp.

This thing looks like the ultimate desktop amp...

So far what I have seen I like the Eversolo screen and GUI, I find it more premium and design wise also prefer the form factor. You dont need to like it though.
