All-in-one vs separates: WiiM Amp Ultra or WiiM Ultra + 3audio A7?

I replaced a Sonos Connect streamer (bit perfect) with optical out into a Benchmark DAC2 that then fed a Buckeye (Hypex NC252MP) amp with a Wiim Amp Ultra. Reason for the change was a lightning strike taking oiut the Buckeye.

I bought the Sonos Connect (US$100) and Benchmark (US$750) second hand and the Buckeye (US$550) new so total cost of original front end ~ US$1,300. The Wiim is less than half that amount and includes features such as Room Correction, PEQ and Sub Crossover with HPF. It has similar power output to the Buckeye at 100W into 8 ohms.

The original system was excellent but I noticed an improvement using the Wiim App to adjust the sound with Roomfit and PEQ while taking the pressure of the integrated amp with the HPF.

This is a patio system feeding a pair of B&W AM01 speakers, originally playing full range with a Velodyne 12" Sub. The Buckeye was fed from the Benchmark's Balanced outputs and the Velodyne sub from tghe RCA crosssed over at the sub at about 60hz.

Disclaimer: Both systems sounded excellent and I expereienced no distortion with either at my maximum listening levels of about 85db with 95db peaks, however, I didn't level match or swap between systems, just my overall impression based on memory.

IMO the Wiim Amp Ultra is a fantastic bargain and a no brainer for a second system.
