Apos emailed me that they are now offering the S.M.S.L A300 for sale. Here's a link to the company product page. At under $200 this is very competitive for 85 wpc at 1% THD. But, is this the good clean 80 wpc I'm talking about? Or, are one or two generations away from it. Your opinions, please.

My mistake, apologies... I was busy at work and clearly was not paying attention.

Distortion seems to start rising at fairly low levels, but seems to have around 35 - 40W @ 0.1% THD+N unweighted.

THD 1% is far from the 0.00-whatever of Class A/B amplifiers of 1970s. (Although I suppose the test parameters might be different.)
...Oh, pleasant surprise, the 85W is at 8 Ohms - they all used to say 60W or whatever but it turned out to be at 4 Ohms.

...High-pass filter, nice, but the user manual tells nothing about adjusting it.

That seems to be the 0.01% point; at 0.1% it is around 55W @ 8Ohm (however that is already well on the steeply rising part of the curve, so arguably clipping...).
Looking at the graphs it seems to me there is a little less than 50W into 8Ohm / 90W into 4Ohm of clean power there.

So it's really desktop but quite suitable since it uses a digital volume control. Or for very high sensitive speakers.
Also, any speakers will have a much worse SINAD than this amp

Edit: How about the new Sabaj?
