Among the information released by the DoW this year on the UAP issue, the link below is to a report generated by the FBI and released by the ODNI that keeps the door cracked open in my mind:

I previously gave a summary of that report in post #5,806.
A question I have is why the DoW did not release the videos from that encounter, rather than only still images extracted from the videos? The still images depict black orbs, but how do we know they are not balloons? The report tells us what they are and how they maneuvered, but video would shed light onto the veracity of the report.
An answer as to why the videos were not released with the report will answer many other questions.
To save going back to the earlier post, here is a summary of the FBI report:
A mission was launched to investigate loud thuds heard in the mountains on the test range that coincided with UAP sightings. "[G]round teams reported spotting a UAP on FLIR, describing it as 'super-hot,' low to the ground, and moving east then south at high speed. The object then split into two and changed direction." The ground team radioed the helicoptor that the object had risen from the ground. The object approached within ten feet of the helicopter, dropped below it, then sped away. The pilots saw it split into two as a smaller object emerged before it and accelerated out of site. The helicopter "briefly pursued but broke off, unable to match its speed."
Minutes later the Joint Operations Center (JOC) directed the helicopter to nearby radar detections. The helicopter took up a hovering position and, in the distance, the crew "saw countless orange orbs swarming in all directions against the backdrop of the mountain."
The JOC then redirected the helicopter to the previous position based on fresh radar hits, and the pilots moved to intercept. The pilots and narrator (one of the senior U.S. intelligence officials) "observed two large orbs flare up side-by-side, close to the helicopter - stationary and just above the rotar disk to our right. They were oval-shaped, orange with a white or yellow center, and emitted light in all directions."
"Ater a few seconds, a third orb flared up below the pair, followed by a fourth below that, forming a total of four or five in a 'T' formation under the original two. Moments later, they dimmed in reverse order, remaining stationary until they vanished from view."
