Alec Baldwin shooting: Lawyer suggests potential sabotage on ‘Rust’ set.

Correct. Think of it as 50.1% vs. 98%.
I know it’s off topic and perhaps uninteresting. I think it is very likely OJ did it. I don’t think the jury was wrong. I think the prosecution presented a terrible case.

Public perception is often very skewed. Almost everyone believes OJ is guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt. And yet over half of America doesn’t think Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK.

And yet the evidence against Oswald is at least 10 times stronger. Go figure

That is actually news to me, but it makes things worse.

First, if it isn’t supposed to be able to fire, then it should have been an inert prop.
Second, there was nothing preventing Baldwin from cycling the revolver, pointing at the ground.
Third, I understand that hindsight is easy, but that same effing gun has recently been used with live rounds. If the cartridges were supposed to be inert, there was no reason not to test them.

I’m not claiming murder. I’m not advocating jail time. I’m asserting a system wide failure to take reasonable precautions.

Starting with no live rounds on the set.

It’s clear that you are anchored on a position based on opinion, without any regard to real world circumstances and aren’t willing to consider there is any potential flaw in your position.

what I find most curious is this is a site dedicated to sorting truth from myth/opinion through facts and science - absent opinion and emotion.

IIRC, something like 20% of the world's population believe the sun revolves around the earth. Heck, all one has to do is look here in our little corner of the world, i.e., audio equipment, for some curious beliefs.

There seems to be some "Evidence Tampering" going on!
The live rounds from the set were misplaced by prosecution or someone, also they were not sent to FBI (commonly) to be checked. As a result, the defence couldn't get their hands on them.
The gun itself has also been destroyed! highly unusual . . .
The defence is trying to dismiss the case based on those facts.

It was said that live rounds are brought in to train actors prior to shooting for them to learn the real action of guns.
Training with live rounds implies safety training.

The law

That probably won’t work, because those live rounds are not elements of the case. The only thing in dispute is Baldwin’s state of mind.

That was a bad look.

"The judge agreed the state improperly disclosed evidence to the defense and dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning it cannot be brought again." (emphasis Duke's)

Wow. Well, I guess none of us get our questions answered.

It was a witch hunt to begin with.
They lost the case on incompetence, technicality or got found out on a possible corruption.
However they lost, I am glad they did.
He has already reached a settlement with the family.
Should the movie come out, the family stand to make more money to insure more security for them.
I am off to bed.

Ironically when making movies we often close down streets and stunt drivers break all sorts of traffic laws.

Should the cops be standing by to give them tickets? Should they file police reports for each crash?
Once the road is closed, then it is up to the insurance companies of the Film Company and the individuals (and perhaps their families.
I am pretty sure that Alec Baldwin's issue's are not because any person or people in the general public have a vendetta against him.

But is insurance company driven, as it should be.

I actually don't know anyone personally that give a damn about him and/or what happens to him one way or another.
Although most have heard reports that don't suggest the he is the epidemy of being a nice guy.

I watch so few movies in my life that I can't name one that he was in.

And, I actually have ZERO interest in this except that I try to keep up with it because others that I know do.
