I Robot from the Alan Parsons Project is one of those albums that calls out for multichannel goodness, like Genesis TLLDOB or anything from Pink Floyd.
That's both for the music itself, as well as the quality of the recording. Alan himself has remastered the album in hi resolution in the original stereo mix, 5.1 and Dolby Atmos.
This album is even more relevant today than it was when it was written by Eric Woolfson over 45 years ago with obvious influence from the Isaac Asimov novel.
I just received my pre-order from Amazon and tonight I shall entertain the neighbors as they walk their dogs past my house :)

One of my favourites

I have the early Arista CD and the MFSL SACD. Never been happy with either.

Going to try the 2004 HDAD when I find one.

I'm doubtful about this blu-ray after the 2015 CD release of The Turn of a Friendly Card, which sounds dreadful to me (sound quality).

Hopefully it's an improvement though, and hope you enjoy

I had the original vinyl back when I did that sort of thing (and it sounded exceptional), original CD and the HDAD and I liked them all, so much so that I never bothered with the MFSL version.
I have been satisfied with the fidelity, but will take any improvement I can get.
I really just wanted a multichannel remaster by the man who did the original with absolutely no loss in fidelity.
If it appears that Atmos or similar is likely to stick around for awhile, I'm open to getting height speakers so I can take full advantage of Atmos. I'm hesitant because they are intrusive in a living room and the ones I would be interested in are very pricey for what they are.
