the bluetooth ability of my topping e70 ceased to be, and i had no luck in attempting rma or repair, either via the local supplier or the company in shenzhen, or even via a local electronic repair guy who seemed pretty capable

the local supplier offered me a deal on a FiiO BR13 which has a Qualcomm QCC5125 doing bluetooth 5.1 like the e70 supplies, for ~$100aud

in the meantime i merely "regressed" to using the htpc and a usb connection, but the bluetooth functionality was great previously, and then in my aliexpress trawling, i happened upon the akliam product above, for ~$36usd delivered, around half the price of the FiiO offered, and sporting BT5.4 using a Qualcomm QCC3084, which ai tells me is >95% of original e70 bluetooth performance (whatever that means for practical purposes using ldac)

tldr : sounds lovely, does the job for casual listening with the convenience of bluetooth; the range is better than the e70 used to manage for reception, and the device is petite, tidy and cosmetically very acceptable

i'd send it in for measurement, but i'm too busy listening to my music streamed from the server, for the first time in ages with the ease of a repurposed mobile phone as my "remote" - supplied courtesy of australia "upgrading" from 3g network and effectively killing my quite 4g capable onePlus 5T for telephony due to lack of necessary "approval" to do VoLTE even though it is perfectly able to handle that protocol

anyway, if anyone needs bluetooth capability as a single addition to their gear, i am happy to say this is a very capable and satisfactory option

Good to know, thanks for sharing.
The risk with these unknown products used to be the annoying messages "device connected" and stuff like that.

What I wanted to ask you is if you have tried to power it from a computer. I build DIY stuff and I am always concerned about the capacitance in the usb inputs. The specification says 10uF max, though everybody knows that a bit more is never a problem, but then you see devices like this with nothing less that 470 uF....

it worked to establish a bluetooth link when powered via usb3, from the front (top) panel on an classic lian li case (A17B) that is ported from the msi mortar max b450 motherboard header - but i didn't connect the output from the akliam to try it, though the phone reported connection, and the bluetooth indicator on the akliam went solid blue signifying connection

the usb header is listed as : 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 connector (support additional 2 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports)

for the e70, it is powered via supplied usb-c cable (that i used above) from an old asus wart power supply stating 5v 2 amp, and it is faultless - the phone bluetooth interface (android 15 / lineage 22.2 nightly release) connects with the device listed as AkLIAM DD2 BT5.4 after connecting by simply following "+ pair new device" from the menu

it does LDAC and the sampling rate is 32 bit streaming at 96kHz with a playback quality selectable from best effort up to 990/909kbps - although "balanced audio and connection quality" set at 660/606 on the phone gives a very consistent link from a room away at a distance of about 6 metres

hope that helps
