The K7xx is most likely similar to the K712 but with an added piece of foam.

Might be measuring a K712 in the coming month.

K612 is much brighter/clearer sounding than K712.

It looks like the cups are mounted 'rigid' onto the sliding pieces of the headband.
There is no 'swivel' of the cups at all ?

The joint is actually a little flexible. Also the joint between the sliding piece and the main headband is a little flexible. I think most people could probably find a decent fit. The main issue I see would be for people with short wide heads-the way that the sliding party flexes it could end up poking into the head.

I got a pair recently, partially to support the research Sean Olive has been publishing and also see their results. Only listened to it a little last night in a noisy space, but I like it a lot so far! I would really like to see a GRAS style set of measurements for them, maybe Sean will publish something. I'm admittedly probably super biased because I like the Harman curve and also want to support their transparency in their research. I will do some AB later with some headphones I have dialed in and play with EQ

I agree with the youtuber earlier that these seem like they would be a better fit for the ubiquitous ATH-M50x starter headphones recommendation. That said, I was never as wowed by the M50 as the internet and also found them to be a bit uncomfortable over longer listening periods due to the ear-mash (the AKGs are super comfortable).

It seems like these should be pretty similar to the HP50s. Has anyone heard both? I love my HP50s but the pads wore out and I haven't been able to find replacements that don't change the sound too much.

I got myself a pair of Superlux HD681 since they are so darn cheap and supposed to be pretty good, might do a thread about them, if there is none, after I give them a few days of listening.

Ok I read your review, the bass sounds flat to me, but I definitely agree about the treble on music that is not well recorded or has more treble its downright piercing and painful, will probably EQ that.

Indeed. I'm very tempted to get one just for doing work in noisy environments for extended periods! IEMs don't sit well for multi-hour sessions for me. Earbuds don't isolate sufficiently unfortunately.

(I'll still use IEM's for the commute as its so much more discrete and most isolate quite well)

After some more time with these, I have to say they are pretty dang comfy for over ear closed headphones.

Kinda off topic but Oluv just reviewed the Hifiman HE4XX, and based on what he said and the measurements they seem to be really really good for the price!

Have to mod and eq to tame the overdone treble; and also build fragilty reports. Many will be fine with this, and I can be a tweaker at times myself.....but how about getting the response right to begin?

Yeah they seemed like a great deal but the quality control issues and the headphones breaking in so many ways for so many ppl is truly a letdown, I am now considering the Audeze LCD 1.

My K371's arrived today.

They sound neutral, like other Harman Target EQ'ed headphones I have.

They sound like NAD HD50. But ear cups are larger and I find it more comfortable.

I am keeping these, and would recommend them. They ought to become the JBL 30X of headphones.

I'm not enjoying my K371 anywhere near as much as I did my HP50 and I'm not sure what it is.

I still have mine. I find the HP50 to have more base, and K371 to be more finicky about head band position (push it forward, and I get more correct base).

I've never heard the HP50, but from measurements it does look quite bassy. I do not measure or hear the K371 as bassy, just sub-bassy. I agree that playing with positioning, and also gently smooshing the pads against my head to establish a seal, help bring out what bass there is.
