AIYIMA T20 – Audiophile-Grade Hi-Fi Tube Preamp in Development

If you want to do it at amplifier level then Aiyima A70 Mono could do it.
It’s a monoblock amplifier with subwoofer output, so you get subwoofer output on each channel. It’s RCA plug output so you could use RCA to XLR cable or adapter.

Thanks for the input, but this is not ideal as I need two of these devices, and I only need a preamp, not an amplifier for powered speakers.

I received T20 2 days ago. Connect TV headphone out to T20, rca to Fosi mc331, 7nocc to Monitor Bronze 50. Pink noise 20+ hrs. Watch TVB drama, I can hear teeth saliva sound, everything more refine, rich and solid environment even at low volume. Amazing . Volume display makes a bold and sophisticated feel. Remote control has a excellent reception. Enjoying and satisfying. Will order xlr cables and A20 to match it.

I do like the big clear display on the T20.

I have the T20 and found the noise that it generated through my dining room system in balanced mode to be unacceptable.
Noise issues are resolved. A few reinsertions of the tubes seemed t have cleaned things up.

Glad it worked out for you. I, on the other hand, have confirmed there is indeed some noise introduced when using some older NOS tubes in T20 and my 105dB sensitive tweeters are hooked up, even with resistors to pad down the tweeter. With the supplied psvane tubes, there is less noise but still some present. Reinsertions not changing things.

Confirm slight noise on 87db speakers in twitter. Only if very close. Reinserting tubes helps.
Currently on burson v7. Probably a waste of money, but personal satisfaction sometime is not rational. Looking to swap to matched tubes but with time.

Hello. I thought Aiyima T20's balanced outputs and RCA outputs were independent, but when I remove the two dual opamps from balanced outputs (sockets empty), the RCA output volume goes way down by around half. When volume knob is turned up, sound quality seems OK. Why does this happen?
T20: The single-ended output is derived from the balanced output. If the op-amps are not installed, the volume will definitely be much lower. (The correct usage is with all components properly installed and functioning; using it otherwise is considered abnormal.)

@AIYIMA
Is the feedback global between opamp and valve as in the scheme? What is effective gain?
And of each stage?

My Aiyima T20 is arriving in the next days and I will use it as a gain stage. If you want to optimize your system it's weak points are the digital volume control and the RCA unbalanced inputs and outputs, there is two more Opamps on the signal path to convert the signal from unbalanced to balanced before the dsp / digital volume control and after the tubes and the output buffer opamps from balanced to unbalanced. If you want avoid the signal path going through two more opamps versus only one per channel as output buffer you can use RCA to xlr adapters if you don't have XLR cables and but you will loose 6db. In my case it's not a problem. I will set the volume control at it's maximum level to bypass it and use my Khozmo passive preamplifier with it's 48 steps shunt attenuator as volume control and input selector to avoid sound quality loss. Another upgrade would be to add decoupling dip8 sockets like the 'Rock-it sockets' or another alternative avaible on AliExpress if you live outside USA to reduce the noise and of course tube rolling with you favorite opamps. My power amp is a 3e audio A5 with Hypersonic Virtual Hifi Opamps and it's the last piece of gear I will change in my system. If you buy a class D amplifier you need a to add a preamplifier no matter which one you choose from Aiyima to Topping and others or the sound will be dry, lifeless and boring, the difference is night and day.

Unbelievable. Too good to be true. White noise 8 hrs. Watch my favorite drama, more than 100% enjoyment. Rca in and out. Enable volume bypass. Not trying HPF yet. Now, I need sometime to enjoy first. After receive Aiyima XLR cables, I will share again.

Forever remembered. Anita, Danny, Leslie.
Warmer voice, sharper image. Tighter, low end extend, more bass control. Volume bypass, tv 23/100, T20 20+/100, very fine adjustment. Light off, sexy Red. Keep enjoying. Will try HPF to extract more from Monitor bronze 50.
