Hey Audio Enthusiasts!

We’re excited to share some features of the last piece of our 10th Anniversary Set – the D20, and we’d love to hear your thoughts!

1️⃣ Dual decoding chips – top-notch decoding performance and specs
2️⃣ Extremely rich options and UI operations – including interfaces and more
3️⃣ High-spec Bluetooth chip
4️⃣ Display screen – featuring multiple VU meters from the A80 and other new themes (stay tuned!)

(During the product development phase, all materials are for reference only and subject to the actual mass-produced product.)

We’d love to know: which feature excites you the most? Let us know in the comments!

Input/output section looks really good.
What’s the digital volume control chip used?
What’s the DAC chip used?

Add a subwoofer out and include a headphone amp with jacks on the front. I would order that as soon as it was available.

Too many units are almost perfect, but leave something important out. The new Fosi ZH3 and the SMSL Raw-HDA1 are both lacking HDMI ARC input and subwoofer out.

@AIYIMA
I would say take inspiration from your A20, a D20 like DAC could be great contender for sub out and HPF as well.
Not so much for this D20 as A20 has those already, but sub out with HPF could make such a product distinct and very flexible for several situations.

I'm not in the market for anything but it looks like it will be good.

VU (or peak) meters are "fun". And I like the "modern" rectangle look rather than the round ones. Bar-graph meters are nice too but not as fun as the analog-looking ones.

I've never felt the need for dual decoder chips but whatever's in the box doesn't concern me. (Although vacuum tubes give me a bad impression. ;) )

I assume the image of the 4-pin XLR connectors isn't correct...

@AIYIMA why are there 4 RCA? Are they output and input? Or 4 channel output (HPF+LPF)? Either would be a good idea imo.
Maybe related: Why dual decoding chips? What do they do?

Highly likely input/output like the Fiio K7. I think I would have used that spare space there for a second coaxial. Coaxial to usb c is a popular cable for smartphones/tablets/PC's these days. I could hook up an tablet via second coaxial whilst connected via coaxial to an amp for example.

Great news!! I will stay tuned for more info and specs... I'm not very interested in a A20+T20 combo, but this D20+A20 combo will be very interesting for sure (maybe the replacement for my current A70+Topping D50III desktop setup).

PD: adding not simple tone controls, but EQ capabilities (like D50III does), will be a big advantage... even a "must" if you want to move ahead of your competitors. Good luck! and thanks for sharing.

Is the optical interface really used infrequently? For example, when connecting a CD player or other devices.

Pop in a headphone amp and this would be perfect!

What I don't want Aiyima do is fill it with lots of feature and suffer mediocre performance.
If I have my way, I just want a balanced pure DAC. USB, coax, inputs.

Hello Aiyima,
No, I would say probably the TV and CD player to both the opticals would be the most common usage. A tablet and other streamer to the coaxial if there were two inputs. It’s certainly not a deal breaker with one coaxial by any means and if anything it is just a further additional input for convenience and would fill the little space above the coaxial.

Thats said, some people have said they prefer coaxial over optical for a slightly more detailed sound quality which would also come down to the manufacturing skills of the brand.

Please use the new AKM AK4497SQV DAC chips!

Full bass management: HPF+LPF

Also, if possible, Dolby Digital 2.0 & DTS decoding, so the unit can be used in a 2.2 setup as part of a mini HT. Wiim offers this with the Ultra.

Loudnesse controls, even via an app, plus 10 band EQ with bands set to specific frequencies matching instruments,
See the more old school HiFi EQ units for example of ranges.

Hardware is important, but so is the setup utility.

I've never seen an audio utility like the AIYIMA S30 or AIYIMA A80 that hasn't been updated.

This should be clearly stated on the AIYIMA official website. The method of installing update files via USB is outdated.

The problem is that these utilities aren't perfect.

Like the S30, if you power off and on your PC, you have to press a button to power it back on.

If this utility ever fails again, it's a no-brainer.

Hardware is important, but the utility is crucial.

It's clear why companies like Topping and Fiio have dedicated utility software teams.

It's crucial for ASIO optimization and ensuring BitPerfect works flawlessly.

+ 1 for staying focused on a DAC with a good range of inputs and quality output stage.
