I found it on FB, worth a look!
Details aren’t available yet, but I guess it might be TPA3255 (which I would like personally).
*more to come @AIYIMA

P.E. I have changed subject from 5.1 to to multi-channel for now until @AIYIMA confirms if it is 2.1 or 5.1 as per their description vs their posted picture!

***Note: 3D model pic has 2.1 channel out, but their post says its 5.1, I am hoping they will update the product 3D model pic.

This could be a game changer for small media rooms. I could see changing out my giant Onkyo 5.1 integrated for this, which spends its life driving 6 speakers in my small TV room.

The connectors indicate 2.1 not 5.1

correct, the pic I added has 2.1 channel out but Aiyima's FB has mentioned 5.1
My guess is that they will update the pic with actual 3D model or real product pic soon, I have asked them for details few hours back but haven't got any response yet.

P.E. I have changed the thread description for now until confirmed.

2.1 channel.

Who in 2024 uses a single passive subwoofer? Raise your hand if you've ever used a passive subwoofer in a home HiFi system.

This is an absolutely pointless product IMO.

I have used several cheapO passive subs and some Energy and Axiom passive product too. They where really good but the cheap ones sucked big time.

I still have a pair of the original HSu Column subs and have updated the drivers to 4 ohm drivers. Until the fire that destroyed my house happened I was driving them with a Carver 600 wpc amp and delighted with how they worked. I am still of the belief that keeping amplifiers away from the vibration inherent in any loudspeaker cabinet is the right approach. Sadly no one sells passive subs anymore so the replacements for these will be a now standard powered sub.

That would be me and for good reasons:

  • I've had several plate amps fail, they compromise the cabinet construction, limited connectivity options and until recent years - fairly useless controls let alone DSP.
  • Passive subs are the easiest speaker to build with high probability to possibly get it right. Choose your own amp power needs to suit.

But I agree, amplified sub output from this type of amp is ridiculous for any space larger than a desktop.

The last passive sub I built was about 1996 IIRC and the size of a refrigerator. It was a large bandpass design, 12" 250W driver and after spending an insane amount of time epoxying and lining/covering all the interior braces screwing/glueing it all together it looked as good as it could.

I just couldn't stand the look of it in my listening room- it was ridiculous. You can't "hide" something that big and ugly. It had to go.

Hand raised! I have 7 passive subs in use across 4 rooms. One ArtCoustic low-profile wall hanging sub in my study, two Linkwitz LXSub4 units in the living room, two DIY Dayton 10" sealed units in the garage, and two Lyngdorf/TacT W210 in the music room.

Looking at this test it seems to be pretty good, has anyone purchased this amplifier?
