My AIYIMA A70 (stereo TPA3255 PFFB) has gone dead. All 3 leds flash on and off for a few seconds after power-up, then the amp turns itself off.

I see no service sheet and the short User Manual doesn't mention this.

Anyone know what this means?

@AIYIMA - can you help?

Thank you -

Abe

Could you please clarify: does this issue occur every time you power on, or only occasionally?
Is the power supply you’re using the one we provided? What are its specifications?
Have you tried using a different power supply to see if the problem persists?

Thanks so much for answering. The problem happens every time I power on (12v trigger from Topping D50iii, but equally if I just press the volume control).

I don't have another PSU I can switch in, BUT - I did test my PSU, with a tungsten bulb as load. I saw steady 48v and I measured 20W power for the bulb I have.

The amplifier doesn't seem to be "dying" - it powers up and displays a sequence of LEDS: power, power and XLR, then all 3, but all 3 immediately start flashing. I count exactly 20 flashes including the first time all three LEDs light, then the amplifier powers down, and this happens every single time. This must be a self test with a specific indication of a particular fault. Unfortunately I can't attach a video to this message (the site doesn't allow it).

The amplifier has worked well for 15 months, and this fault did not develop gradually, but suddenly and continuously.

It's out of warranty and I bought it on the web. It's not economic to send it back by post to someone who's not going to help.

It displays a clear error code and if you were willing to tell me its meaning I might at least know if it's worth taking to a repairer.

To my amazement Aiyima have kindly sent me a replacement. As my amp was 15 months old I didn't really expect or deserve that, and just wanted any info that might suggest whether it was worth seeking a repair.

I'm delighted to have the replacement, and even a little embarrassed. Feeling I owe Aiyima something - perhaps I'll go in the market for some of their speakers.

Thank you Aiyima!
