This is a review and detailed measurements of the AIYIMA A200 stereo amplifier with USB DAC and Bluetooth. It was sent to me by the company and costs about US $160.

The compact size should fit on desks well. Controls are simplicity in themselves: push in the volume control to select input (RCA or Bluetooth/USB). Rotate for volume.

Nice to see built-in power supply unlike other AIYIMA offerings that required large external ones. Design is based on TI TPA3255 IC.

AIYIMA A200 Measurements
Let's start with RCA input:

SINAD which represents a measure of noise and distortion is above average:

Unfortunately digital input degrades that some:

So the rest of the tests are with RCA input. SNR is good for class:

As is distortion as represented by multitone:

Frequency response is flat enough but is load (speaker) dependent:

Crosstalk is good:

Let's see how much clean power it can produce with 4 and 8 ohm loads:

Allowing for 1% THD we don't get more power but burst delivery is higher:

For a desktop amp, this is pretty good amount of juice.

Sweeping at different frequencies shows very predictable response:

Of note, power doesn't drop much at 20 Hz which is very good (and important).

Finally the amp is good more or less when you power it up:

Conclusions
AIYIMA once again shows that it has as solid hold in the mid-power amplifier market with above average performance at bargain prices. Integrated power supply solves one of the hassles of their separates and provides nice turnkey solution. Interface and build is good for the class. So really, if you want a competent amplifier with good power and little money, you have it.

I am going to recommend the AIYIMA A200 amplifier.

Badly design DAC, it will get better score if it doesn't include digital input for this product.

That lower my opinion of the amplifier a lot, it would be better if they didn't add the crappy DAC that is almost a loss of 10dB.
The DAC is there for free and convenience.

Could always do the A07 if you just want the amp and no dac. In any case, this Aiyima is a completely serviceable amp for desktop/bookshelf speakers in a smaller listening space for only $160. Probably only a short matter of time before they figure out how to offer this same power at the same price with a SINAD of 115db.

Besides for some super low sensitivity speakers, does one need a 50W (8ohm) amp for desktop use? I would trade a bit of that for lower noise, so higher sensitivity speakers have less chance of tweeter hiss.
I would think using the analog to drive it directly would be ok for desktop stuff. The digital input looks like it may have hiss, tho. Still its one reason I rolled my own 40W amp for my desktop setup. I hate hiss, and really hate hum. But today there are other inexpensive amps are quite a bit quieter.

Thanks Amir. My concern with those little amps is: is there hiss produced in the speakers? The Aiyima A07 does hiss in mine.

Nice review.

We need more of those good speakers amps for a reasonable price, IMO.

Still looking for a reasonably priced 2x100W/8 ohm amp ..

(One may wonder how they manage to include a DAC that perfoms worse than my smartphone or the Apple dongle, though)
