They put the electrolytic capacitors back on the hottest part of the circuit board instead of finally mounting them vertically. On top of that, they mount a small input board.

At 12 minutes in the host talks about heat dissipation. If amirm gets one for testing we will all know how hot it really is regardless of what video guy claims.

Video was rather useless, but the case is larger in size/volume (with some vents on sides) than others of similar kind and heat radiator/heat-sink is attached to the bottom of case for hear transfer to the case like others.
There shouldn't be any heat related issues in general with with.

All that space could have housed a nice clean switching power supply but instead you have to tend to "placing" the usual 48v 5A bricks somewhere under your desk/unit instead.... Otherwise I'd be all over this sort of mono desktop setup given the VU meters.

I'm trying to move away from bricks and getting devices with internal PSUs not add more bricks.

Ok so seeing CAM's video earlier on this and the power supply is much smaller as it's the GaN model, still a brick but less of a brick than the brick that powered my previous Aiyima amps and DACs and the one currently powering my Topping PA7.

Have you seen the bricks that come with B200s?! Bigger than V3 Mono AMPS!

I was going to wait for the Fosi Mono V3 to come back instock and order a replacement for the one that blew, but im questioning whether I should just go for these instead.

Hello.

I’m curious why the newly released AIYIMA A20 Mono is only offered with a 48V 5A power adapter as the standard option.

Is there a technical reason why a 48V 10A adapter is not offered as an option?

Also, can I safely use AIYIMA’s 48V 10A GaN power adapter with the A20 Mono? Would it provide any improvement in maximum output power or performance compared with the standard 48V 5A adapter?

Because that's the maximum power output of the 3255 amplifier when used as a mono power amplifier. You only need 10 amps with the stereo amplifier.

I'm gonna stick to my A70 Monos. I bought those on Aliexpress vor roughly 75 USD each, maybe two years ago with numerous discount codes applied. I really don't understand why they took that large enclosure from the A70 Stereo model, since no thermal problems ever occurred inside the A70 Monos' flat enclosure, even when placed on top of each other.
I really miss a (surely bridgeable) volume control knob with the A20 Monos. To be more specific, once again a detent a/k/a stepped potentiometer, just as it came with the A70 Monos in an (unfortunately) non-bridgeable layout.

Also via RCA what is the recommended voltage to be able to drive the A20 Mono's fully?

Nice looking little amp. Likely testing will show no benefit in specs or output compared to the multitude of similar two channel amps on the market. I guess dual mono is cool, but the added cost and cluttered for a stereo setup doesn't seem worth it. I can see three A20's driving the L-C-R in a home theater setup, but the the VU meter light would be a non-starter. Even so, always good to have options and I look forward to an objective review.
