Aiyima A20 Mono - New Comer

Hi there - what sort of power supply does it use per Monoblock <edit> to achieve the 600W into 2R?
That will be a short term rating and is at 10% distortion.

It is not a rating you should be hanging your hat on. It will likely have similar measured power performance to the other TI TPA3255 chip based amps such as the 3E audio A7
 
Honestly, just trying to work backwards to topology of the amp and the PSU voltage to verify the number. The only way (as I understand it) is PBTL and even then the voltage needs to be higher than the usual 48V for the tpa3255.
Hence the question!
Kinda not the point though, I'd rather know how it sounds.

These values are for over 50V and 10% distortion


Maximum power in mono mode (PBTL) at 48V & 0.01% THD+N:

At 2 ohms: approx. 400 to 420 watts

At 4 ohms: approx. 220 to 240 watts

At 8 ohms: approx. 110 to 120 watts

The internal design > Are the electrolytic capacitors mounted vertically this time, rather than lying directly on the hot chip?

How is the PFFB designed?

Which circuit boards are used?

Is the VU meter adjustable?

Transparent—provided the speakers don’t have an impedance dip below 2 ohms and you don’t cause the amplifier to clip.

If you’re looking for maximum distortion-free performance from a Chip amplifier, I’d check out the TPA 3251 models, which offer an even more affordable option with a lower distortion profile than the 3255.

I believe the 3E A5 uses them, and (possibly) the Topping 300 mini as well.

Great form factor and design (in my opinion), GOOD JOB AIYIMA, I will be ordering A20 Monos!

But what is the gain on the XLR input?
 
If you purchase from our official website during the pre-sale period, we also have a standalone amplifier option without the PSU.
What is the gain on balanced input?
 
So are YOU satisfied with single fixed gain @ XLR? - I'm not, never thought in before it would feature RCA gain setting only! Makes it harder to properly mix and match with DACs-preamps within a desireable ideal range of operation of the DAC's-preamp's potentiometer.
I generally have no issue with a single gain option if that gain option is within reasonable range. The stated +20dB would be okay for my usage/chain.

I see I find it relatively "hot" these +20 dB. It's a matter of preference, I would always trade some SNR for safety (safety from broken ground connection, electronic attenuation split-second malfunction, etc.).

I would not like it above +23db or so. My current amps are +11dB on low gain, and they are just barely loud enough on my quietest tracks when listening at reference levels, so a little bit more would actually be nice.
