@AIYIMA
How much it would add to cost of the amplifier by adding Tone bypass switch and implementation/mods given by Mr. Thorsten
here (link) ?

Seems so much better than much of the 70s/80s stuff of similar power for the price.

As usual, they list different power levels, depending on the selected Power Supply.
This factory provided chart is an illusion and simple theory. I have made dozens of tests of A07 with 48V/10A power supply and the best it gets is about 150W/4ohm before clipping, or 180W/4 ohm if you allow for 1% distortion.

Can this test?

Would be wasting time, it will be the same because of the TPA used. TPA based toys are all similar.

it would be interesting comparision if price is the criteria to have measurements of moderately well made chinese class AB amplifier modules* around same price point.
* (no chip/ic amps)
regds.

Could you publish the measurements for different PS values, if you have them ?
Would be very interesting, IMO.

i dont doubt his figures really, its not like as if he doesnt know what he's doing but we have now a fair bit of charts from different people... all of quite eminent in their field

but again what is deliverable for your $90? I'd like to see someone from Infineon come to bat but maybe they arent able to make that price?

An ideal amplifier would follow the red line. We are essentially there for both 8 and 4 ohm. Surprisingly this little amp managed to also keep running at 2 ohm, albeit without capacitive component and some power drop. Many amps simply shut down and won't even work into 2 ohm.
Like this Reactive Load Test presentation better.

Interesting that tech/subjective reviewers-cum-gurus like Martin Colloms back then, always highly rated most of the worst measuring amps in his reviews, yet at the time, the better measuring (for IMD not just harmonic distortion) amps all sounded lean toned, 'thin' and with odd bass. The only 1980's exceptions being UK-Audiolab and a couple of high output current HK amps of the times, which to me all sounded very similar. It's reviews like these which robbed the UK market of so many otherwise nice amps I feel and mostly because of the religion surrounding two UK makes in particular which I was part of I admit at the time.

This little amp isn't at the top of the sinad tree, but come on fella's, even with iffy tone controls, the basic performance is at least equal to so many of the recommended 'budget audiophile' brands of the past and as so many of 'us' have desktop systems these days with a sodding great screen in between the speakers, I think it's a real bargain.

For UK buyers interested in a more European flavoured version (which sadly costs double), the BK Peardrop Class D amp may well be worth a good look. It used to have a generally good Paschal based? plate amp as its heart - and it's available on UK eBay as well -
