Aiyima’s new balanced amplifier- A20

High pass filter in a20 will pass to speakers only the frequencies above set limit? And below set limit frequencies will be played through subwoofer? I'm understanding this correctly?
Exactly. A very useful option unavailable in the majority of amplifiers. A subwoofer with a variable LPF should make integration between mains and sub so much easier. That’s my hope!

Edit: I’m not sure whether the amp will or will not send a full range signal to the subwoofer via its sub out. Perhaps @AIYIMA can give us more information.

Yes, there will be a slope but largely it’s correct.

While it isn’t clear to me yet as I haven’t tested myself or seen info anywhere but subwoofer output might be full band.

This, without the volume control knob, would make for a nice alternative to the Fosi amplifiers. A bypass is nice but the volume control is so prominent on the face of the unit.

We designed a cutoff frequency for the Sub output, up to 200Hz, to match the high-pass filter (HPF) frequency setting.

Does it mean - if HPF is set to 80 Hz then it will send above 80 Hz to speakers and below 80 Hz to subwoofer out?
If this is correct then HPF is setting HPF for speakers and LPF for subwoofer both?

The high-pass filter (HPF) of the A20 is only applied to the main speakers and does not include a low-pass filter (LPF) for the subwoofer. Therefore, the subwoofer’s output frequency remains unaffected, staying at 20–200Hz. If users need it in the future, adding both HPF and LPF can be considered.

Got it, this should clarify the question around subwoofer out asked here.
Thank you

One of the things that I really appreciate is manufacturers that use this site to discuss and take on board feedback from potential end users of their products. Couple this with manufacturers who send their products in for review and it really makes this site an invaluable tool in choosing what product to buy.

We’ll keep listening to your feedback and work on making our products even better and more in line with what you need. And of course, feel free to share any ideas or suggestions anytime — we’ll be happy to hear them!

Still no any tests in the web, it looks like i have to buy A20 with T20 and test them myself. But what if A20 will have worse sound than A80?

I just sold my a80 yesterday. Am enjoying the T20/A20 combo right now . Can't wait for D20 to complete the Masterpieces of the
DECADE series

Up and running. I also upgraded my DAC to a unit with a USB input. The Aiyima A-20 seems very solidly built for the price point. Connecting is a bit more fiddly due to the reduced real estate but it’s a one-off operation. The Topping E30 II DAC is providing the preamplifier function. Having the HPF on the amplifier is such a great feature. I’ve crossed over my sub and amp at 70Hz for now. I’ll do some measurements in DIRAC over the weekend and see if I can optimise it further. It all sounds great! Plenty of power with +3dB RCA engaged on the back of the amp. I’ve got the amp output set at 100% and I have cranked up the volume to window rattling levels on the DAC with no sign of any distortion. Congratulations to @AIYIMA! This is a great little amp with a much needed feature (HPF and sub out) for a 2.1 setup. I’ll be interested to read Amirm’s review now and hopefully not have my enthusiasm dashed as it was when he reviewed my B&W 805S speakers!

Calling this a 2.1 amplifier is a bit of a stretch. 2.1 preamplifier maybe, but it's definitely not amplifying three channels.

This goes on sale on Aliexpress and Amazon on the 20th of September, i.e. in 7 or 8 days. So anyone wanting one won't have to order it direct from Aiyima anymore, and can possibly get it for cheaper on Aliexpress. We just need the review now.

I did not call it a 2.1 amplifier. I said it was great for a 2.1 set up. My sub is powered.:)
I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to Aiyima since they are describing it as a 2.1 amplifier.
