Interesting... what sort of ballpark launch price are we talking here?

Android! Ok, thank you. Not interested any longer.
curious why that’s a dealbreaker? running the Android app is on many services the only way to get the full fat client, with more features and options than a simple cast.

The first Android device I bought was a tablet about 10 years ago. That went in the bin 9 years and 11month ago. Then I had an aftermarket car stereo baeed on Android installed in an older truck of mine two years ago. Absolute trash! And whenever I have to operate an Android cell phone I simply get the creeps. All in all Android is giving a horrible user experience, so I stay away from it where ever I can.

Starting a couple of major versions behind current isn't exactly a good start for a new product. I haven't looked for promises about how long they might maintain it, or whether there will be major version upgrades. Or whether they'll be releasing kernel source (as the license says they must) - something many phone manufacturers don't do. I'll wait and see...

I think if Aiyima can produce this at a similar price to the WiiM Ultra they will be onto a big winner here - the ability to have any Android Music streaming app and have screen mirroring would be a huge advantage over the excellent WiiM Ultra.
This will be available on October 28 as per @AIYIMA's post on YT and FB.

Placing the controls on the left side would only make sense if the majority of people were left-handed.
However, the opposite is true.

is it not better to have the screen you’ll be touching much more on the right?
