I am wondering what's the typical behaviour of AirPlay receivers and hosts when it comes to playback volume. Suppose I have a receiver that supports AirPlay but also other streaming options. When I choose it as an AirPlay device on my Mac, what happens to the volume on the receiver? Do devices always adopt the volume of the computer? If so, do they do it after I hit play, or right when I choose the device?
My current integrated amp adopts the volume set on the computer after I press play, but not when the device is chosen. I am wondering if most other implementations also do the same.
