Why? Because your hifi streamer does not support ALAC?

If they are not DRM'ed, would you consider converting those files to FLAC assuming your streamer supports that format?

Yes and no:
If you use the tidal app and stream via airplay it‘s lossy.
With Tidal connect it‘s lossless.

Tidal Connect does not stream from your iphone to the Wiim. It „tells“ the Wiim which song to play. And the Wiim connects to tidal.

But I am a complete newbie in streaming music, except for bluetooth
If I understood it all correctly, AirPlay is not involved when you stream the music from an iPhopne to, for example, the Wiim via Tidal Connect?
I thought you had to go through AirPlay when streaming from an iOS device via wifi

No. It´s because when I stream from my mac/Apple Music App to my NAD Amp it uses Airplay. No matter which File Format

Just to note, Deezer as well streams via Airplay 1, thus should be lossless to my LS60's.

Yes, Airplay 1 ist fine, but my amp uses airplay 2.

Just received my Wiim mini today, and I will set it up tomorrow and try it out.
If everything works out fine I will go for a better Wiim in the near future and set the mini up in my daughters room.
