AI Artists You Have Discovered Lately

AI "Artist" isn't a thing.

Should I rename this thread to "AI hater corner"?

The new album by Flea (late of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) is very, very good if you're into Jazz/Jazz Fusion. His bass-playing skills are excellent. I think the LP is named 'Anora'.
Thanks I'll check it out. He is/was a good bass player so evolving into jazz might be cool.

Last Christmas while my mom was accumulating gift items for the nephews at amazon I checked her cart out and I found that half the "books" were very likely AI generated and written by highly suspect and only recently popular pseudonymous writers. She also added one "health" related book for herself that seemed likely written with the help of AI. I've also noticed that both my parents are occasionally watching youtube videos generated with the help of AI (voices and/or writing) -- health related topics with my mom and history/military stuff with my dad. I keep on telling them it's obviously fake and should not be taken seriously, but really, what can I do? I don't have time to police everything they buy on amazon or watch on the telly. I don't even watch television myself anymore.
Is this caused by the recommendation algorithms being swamped with AI slop? I've always tuned those parts of websites out, largely because they seem less useful than random suggestions to me. Is it a case that once you start consuming AI they think they have a live one?

The Eddie Dalton case: when AI generates the "perfect" chart artistThere is no face behind the hoarse voice that sings of the suffering of the Mississippi Delta; there is no dusty guitar, nor a musician who has spent years studying the classics of the genre. Eddie Dalton is a digital ghost, a product generated entirely by generative artificial intelligence models which, starting from simple textual prompts, have created a finished product capable of deceiving not only the ears of listeners, but also the distribution algorithms of the streaming giants.

It's a good question whether streaming platforms should or should not accept this material, that coarsely imitates human artist presentation without disclosure. But that aside—and something we can argue elsewhere—we did have discussion of some generative music 'artists' in another thread, which may have included this one, not sure. I can't speak to using my ears to differentiate as I don't listen to that type of music very often. But using my eyes to check that artist on Apple Music I can see three albums (not just singles) all dated 2026, with fairly generic covers and absolutely no bio. All of which means artificial.

I've also previously posted my most-played example of music employing generative tools in production—Arca's Riquiqui;Bronze-Instances(1-100) using the titular Bronze generator:

We also have the apropos lyric:
Regenerated girl
Degenerate to generate heat in the light
Love in the face of fear
Fear in the face of God
Thinking this will never end to break off

Nobody gotta know
What we do

Using her own material as the training corpus obviates the copyright/originality issues, of course. And use of generative tools isn't cryptic in this case. I'm definitely ok with nuanced discussion of machine learning and generative tools by artists. Also, I consider these hundred tracks are quite good instances/variations and more to my taste than algorithm-generated autoplays. But I'm fond of avant-garde music, history and experimentation.

Am i the only one who think it is disgusting that anyone can think the terms Artist and AI are connectable?

eigentlich nur eine mögliche Antwort: V...t....l

if it is BS- you have to call it BS
Especially in the current economic context in which actual artists struggle mightily to barely survive (except the very few at the top, of course).

Also especially when invisible hands behind the prompts are happy to generate AI blackface for clicks/micropayments.

I also have this album, there are some very beautiful tracks, and others quite boring, especially the one with Thom Yorke, whom I really like, so I'm quite torn.

I dunno for sure..l definitely see a lot more of that type of content lately. Everybody is just trying to make money either way -- "real" physical artists/actors are just too expensive to hire. It may also have something to do with me recently having watched a few 2026 trailers -- new Harry Potter series included.

One of the video recommendations I saw related to that video recently posted is from a "creator" called "WickedAI"

Severus Snape - ALWAYS (Live at Hogwarts) | Music Video

I think it's pretty good overall. Some AI weirdness and inconsistencies are still there, of course, for those with keen eyes; but, not too bad compared to some older, more "amateur" stuff from the vast horde of AI content creators.

Included in the video description are the ff:

Generative artificial intelligence provides a fascinating set of tools for me to explore bringing my ideas and stories to life, while pushing the boundaries of entertainment.

I get it -- but for a debut LP it's pretty damn good. There are very, very few 'perfect' albums out there. The only one that comes to mind is Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue', which is pure genius top to bottom imo.

Music is a form of communication between humans, which is why I only listen to human artists, living or dead.
There's already enough to explore for a lifetime without adding the music of automatons.

Did I miss something connecting 'AI' music with Flea's new album? Or is the second post simply a response to the first?

Not all that meaningful but the potential seems great:

So androids really do dream of electric sheep! And the odd dog-sheep (1:00) woven into the visual narrative. Lyrics be clumsy though.

I'm not getting the appeal. I get boredom, doomscrolling and lack of imagination as causal factors for such appetites I guess (for people in general, not you in particular). But these things look like rough cuts assembled out of sweepings from the edit bay floor painted over with a glaze of schmaltz.

You're not missing anything, I made a mistake, I thought it was about new music that one discovered. It's just a damn good LP.
