Advice to effect amp with Denon AVR4500

Thank you Svend, I will give it a watch this evening! What do you think of the comparison AI made?
AI is useless in this discipline, because it just repeats what other users have written online. It is not science or based on facts.

You could start a new thread, asking for advice on speakers, but you'll get the same advice I gave. There is no magic sauce, it can all be seen in the measurements, which means Sonus Faber, B&W and Audiovector are out. They are designed to impress in a demonstration, but will get tiring after some time.

I sense you want nice furniture as well, so if I wanted to spend that kind of money, I would get a pair of Kef Reference 3 Meta

Don’t use AI for speaker comparisons! It will just regurgitate the tired old marketing nonsense everyone parrots.

I did hear MOFI in Hifi klubben and it was - to me - an extreme bad sounding speaker. (my preference is not for the mechanic sound as B&W or grey/muddy as MOFI)
At least that is what I have experienced so far :)
I’ve heard the 10” MoFi. It was not muddy or gray at all. Nor do the measurements point towards that sound signature. If you compare the 888 to something like KEF R7 meta, they measure very similar:

Maybe the room you auditioned in was quite poor. Here in the Netherlands, I know the rooms in those stores aren’t very good. Also, without room correction, the extended low end of the 888 may make room interaction worse. I can image this sounding a bit muddy if it agitates some more room modes.

Yeah, it might be the reason.

May I ask how/where you find these curves and compare? Is it from test-articles so surroundings are matching?
