Adding bypass capacitors correctly to a crossover?

Thats the problem, there is no information about these "audiophile" caps. Just looked at four different web sites, not one data sheet. Just pages of how great they sound and a comment or two about low ESR or inductance but zero numbers. Is this because the numbers arn't that great and easy to compare? So what exactly (electricaly) makes these caps better? Theres no magic.
That’s a bit unfair. The Jantzen product page has a datasheet link prominently displayed for every product: https://jantzen-audio.com/product-category/capacitors/

And yeah, no graphs but all the key values are there

With data for the entire series like this:

"ESR: extremely low" useless
"Inductance: 0 nH" impossible

And different sizes have different specs, no mention of that.

Here you go…….look up Humble Homemade HiFi ……..many different makes of capacitors tested with ratings. I’m extremely happy with my picks from this list. Here’s one of my crossovers ( left speaker ) for the bass, mids, and highs. All with uprated capacitors.l

What your a sucker for is audiophool BS. These "boutique" caps are no better, sometimes worse than the caps from the industrial capacitor manufacturers.
Not the ones i use, they sound superior to my ears than cheap capacitors, we all hear different, you cannot hear any difference in sound quality but many other people do...if quality did not matter all electronic components would be built to the cheapest price & quality but there not.....

If you cannot see the point of the discussion here then I’m afraid there is no hope for you. I wash my hands of this whole line of inquiry.

Wash all you like, but it doesn’t fix your logical fallacy.

People have also reported sonic improvements from demagnetizing CDs, with glowing reviews to back them up. Does that establish that demagnetizing a polycarbonate optical disc improves its sound?

It’s just more people repeating the same claims. The same thing happens in Homeopathy, for instance. Science isn’t a democracy.. it needs carefully controlled tests to establish facts.

Tested? Are you serious. Some nobody on the internet did sighted listening to a bunch of capacitors and thats what you call tested? Did you miss the Science part of ASR?
And hes a cable sound believer.

Prove you can actually hear a difference than we can talk.

Go look at the ASR reviews of expensive vs cheap gear and maybe you will realize prices of audio gear and there quality are not directly related.

I don’t have to prove anything, anymore anyway, after 58 years of chasing the ultimate sound with upgrading resistors, inductors and of course capacitors…… in fact I’m just about to change that little red Audyn Q4 2.2uf capacitor next to the small inductor for an Obbligato Silver ( brand new series ) 2.2uf to see if that improves or not. I also make my own cables ( using 12 gauge pure copper ) that can compete with the brand of cables that go for thousands of dollars. That photo by the way is the circuit for the tweeter alone.

58 years of chasing passive xover nonsense when active filters exist. Interesting.

Its always interesting to me how the science can show one reality, and some actively choose to live in a different reality. No amount of belief makes the xover parts behave any different.

I find it curious how boutique xover goobers never bother spending any time vcad or other sims to learn the behavior of components. They'd learn a lot which is probably why they avoid it.

There are people considering passive XO a form of 'art' (Dr Morbius) where expensive/exotic components seems to be a must, and there are folks that see an XO as 'engineering challenge with its trade-offs/limitations'.

It can be done passively, actively or 'hybrid' (a bit of both).

Passive or active is a choice and something can be said for both options depending on the use case.

So a cable "sound" believer also. No surprise.

Sure, I wasn’t claiming it was, just that “no datasheet” was a bit unfair
In the sense that they ship a sheet with a bit of data.
And while they don't post "graphs", anecdotal information like "extremely low" instead of actual data for parameters like ESR, Dissipation Factor, Self-Inductance is unserious, consistent with the unseriousness of these expensive capacitors.

I'm not surprised. My own cables can also compete with brands of cables that go for thousands of dollars.

Yep, some people are just clueless - cheap and expensive capacitors are all the same, $6,000 cables are inherently the best, President trump won all 8 wars and the earth is flat, always was and always will be.

That’s quite literally the world upside down. You’re comparing established science and objective facts with claims for which you’ve provided no controlled evidence whatsoever, and somehow casting the people asking for evidence as the science deniers

Who you gonna believe, me or your own ears?…………in this case, both……….lol
