Moved across the pond, starting from scratch. Need to integrate TV into my prospective stereo audio setup which I’ve never done before.
I’m considering the NR1200, which ticks all my boxes (including form factor!) except for having no room correction. Marantz has other models of the same size with Audyssey but no XT32.
I’m wondering if I could add a TOSLINK splitter between the TV’s HDMI ARC and the AVR, feed that into a DAC or DSP that does room correction, then back into the AVR. Would it be possible to use that input as the audio source while displaying each HDMI in?
Are there any AVRs that have first-class support for external processors?
Or should I just bite the bullet and get a 3700H, even if I’ll only ever use two channels?
