I am considering to add Dirac Live Bass Control (DLBC) to my 2.1 system. Currently I don’t use any DSP yet.

However, I read some conflicting information online. Some posts say that DLBC is mostly reasonable when integrating >1 subwoofers. Yet, they still sell licenses for single subwoofer setups. What are your thoughts? Does it add value compared to Dirac Live full bandwidth?

(I am aware that DLBC requires different hardware than Dirac Live)

For one sub you can use Dirac Live Bass Management, you will not need DLBC
(I am not sure though that it is still available separately)

IMO a prerequisite to EQ in achieving accurate bass response is the optimization of sub timing relative to the mains.

I use a MiniDSP to do this (measured/verified w/REW) which also has DIRAC Live. DIRAC effectively tames the peaks created by room gain and implements a desirable house curve. I am not knowledgeable about DLBC, but if it is able to automate the timing step then i think that could certainly be of benefit to people that don’t want to tinker with the process.
