ADC & DAC audio interface (2 headphone outputs + 2 audio inputs) with EQ for the outputs?

Hi everyone!

Maybe I'm dreaming a little too hard, but I'd like an audio interface on which I can plug in my microphone and my guitar, but above all on which I can make EQ adjustments for my two headphones and my speakers.

I'd also like :
-no latency
-excellent converters
- software and/or unit that allows you to quickly switch from one pre-setting to another (e.g. setting A sends sound to the speakers but not the headphones, setting B supplies power to the microphone and mutes the speakers but not the headphones, etc.)

Does it exist or is it too much to ask for?

Thx!

-no latency
non existent with digital, just the conversion itself introduces the latency already. You gotta compromise somehow, especially if you want to record and monitor what you are recording. How much latency do you actually hear? 5 ms? 7ms?

The rest would be Neumann MT48, for instance. I am sure there are others.

Thx!

As far as latency is concerned, I was referring to music software that does or doesn't have latency.

If the latency is moderate, it's not a big deal. There are more important criteria, though, such as price. At 1,600 euros for an interface, that's going to hurt! I don't need an interface with a screen. I'd like to be able to equalise from the interface software on the PC.:)

Again, any software that need to capture and play back the audio will have latency, not to mention processing. Not least consideration would be drivers for the interface, more to the point, the minimum buffer it can use, as well as stability of operation at lower buffers, plus the buffers in the software itself. Those things may come at a price. RME and Presonus Quantum series come to mind. Although I am not sure about 2 headphone outputs. Conveniences like separate control of outputs usually not found in lower tiered interfaces either.

The RME Fireface UCX II with the RME ADI-2 Pro FS R as a monitoring front-end will cover all your needs, and then some. But you can start with just the UCX II and make use of the Room EQ feature for output EQ and TotalMix snapshots and workspaces for quick preset switching.

The Neumann MT48/Merging Anubis is also an option
It has a VERY extensive PEQ option for monitors and headphones built in

However, it uses a non-standard algorithm for its PEQ
If you plan to EQ by ear, this is a non-issue
However, "importing" on-line EQ values or values produced through REW can be challenging

Note: I have been in weekly contact with Neumann/Merging support for 4 months trying to get an updated conversion formula that would allow one to import PEQ values from the likes of REW directly into the Neumann MT48/Merging Anubis.

While this process has been frustratingly slow, they do actually seem to be making progress (they enlisted a mathematician to re-calculate the formula).
The new formula is allegedly going through validation before sharing it with me.

As soon as they share the formula. I'll test it myself and share it in the Neumann MT48 thread:
