I’ve done a little more reading and think I’m mildly concerned about the low volume low pass filter issue which is apparently ongoing after firmware 1.7.
I know some people have said it is totally fixed but I think for peace of mind I might end up going with the Kali lp unf with 3yr warranty.

Theres a second hand pair of lp6 which are very tempting and almost half the price of the lp unf new but as it’s my first pair I’m thinking maybe just easiest to go with brand new from guitar guitar.
I can get the d3v down to £140 with a partial trade in but yeah quite up in the air just now… have heard about the trick with a 22kHz note playing but doesn’t seem ideal

If I remember correctly, if you register your D3V, you will get 5 year warranty.

Recently received a new pair of D3V and updated the firmare to 1.7. I've enabled standby mode, so that they turn off after 20 mins of no signal, so all good there. However, when music is played (at decent volume that isn't too low), they don't wake up and the knob needs to be pressed once in order to do so. Is there any way of enabling them to wake up automatically and not just go to sleep automatically?

I've heard from multiple people that there was pop noises from these speakers when the computer is turned off or when they go to sleep. Is it a general issue? Anyone that doesn't experience these using USB-C?

Only had mine two days and getting a pop yes. Usc c only so far but will be trying analogue tonight. Edit: no pop with analogue, just with usb c. However, auto standby (wake up only) is not working on either input

AFAIK there is no way to have it wake up from standby automatically, you have to hit the knob. If that's an issue, you need to disable the standby function so they're always on.

Is the popping sound when shutting down a PC on USB C normal as well? That knob's going to be seeing a lot of use-)

That I couldn't say, I don't think I've ever shut down my computer with the speakers on. I'll have to try it and see what happens (it'll have to wait until tomorrow).

I don't have the D3V, but I occasionally get a pop through my powered speakers (Audioengine A2+ I think) when I turn off my headphone amp. They aren't connected to each other, but are both connected via USB-C to the PC and plugged into the same power strip.

Possibly not the same problem, but the pop is probably similar. No need to worry about it damaging the speakers, so it really comes down to whether it's more annoying to turn the speakers off each time or to hear the pop.

It pops every time when audio input on USB is cut from a Samsung S23U. I suspect this has something to do with Android forced resampling shenanigans.

I sent a ticket to Adam a year ago about this, but I never bothered to follow up with a vid though since its not my main use case.

I'm not sure about shutting down, but it certainly is when I unplug the USB cable from my laptop (connected to the monitor's USB hub which also powers it - the speakers connect to the hub too). I usually remember to push the knob before disconnecting now if they're on. I wonder how many clicks it's rated for.

Think I'll just leave mine in auto standby mode, in order to gain from the 'go to sleep part' of auto standby (which works on both inputs). Also allow them to pop as and when that happens, as it's not that bad tbh. Will just use the knob for waking them up the next day, so it won't be that many clicks overall. Might end up using analogue input anyway, which will take care of the popping aspect.
