ADAM Audio D3V specs price ?

I was very interested in these until I came across the tweeter low pass filter at lower volumes, causing them to lose volume and detail. How low exactly are we talking where this happens?

It does not happen any longer after the software update.

Plenty of people still complaining about it after the update, all they did was lower the threshold of the noise gate by -20db. Do you own them and experience no issues with the volume?

Even if it does still happen - I'm not noticing it.

I haven't noticed the noise gating at all.

I just checked mine, at a very low volume and they sound just fine.
Or should I rephrase it, they sound different compared to the sound before the software update.
Even at the very low volume, the highs are there.
If in doubt, find a place with a liberal return policy, or even better, find a store that may have them on demo.

How much or a sacrifice are they compared to cheap 5 inch monitors that cost about the same?
I mean bass wise and soundstage size

5 inch monitors simply wouldn't fit on my desk, so for me it's not even a valid comparison.

Hello folks. Stumbled upon this forum researching the D3Vs after getting them in the big recent sale. They are 100% worth it, 99% of the time.

I experienced the low volume high freq dip, and then updated them shortly after which resolved it (as well as the auto-turn off after 20 mins feature).

The only real annoying thing is that a pop of noise happens every 3-4 minutes, when the connected USB-C device is asleep but the D3Vs are still on. Imagine they can figure that out in the next software.

I was skeptical as well and I'm not one to shill but these are pretty damn sexy, compact, and cheap for the power & fidelity.

The noise gate thing was a problem for me at low volumes. I tried them on a desktop in a cubicle at work. If they were quiet enough to not disturb my neighbor the tweeter would turn off, and the volume required to get the tweeter to turn on was too loud for an office. I had zero complaints about sound quality but ultimately returned them and went with Kanto Ora 4.

I'm not sure my update worked correctly, because they still turn off "quickly" for me. But I don't care at all about that.

IIRC, the update doesn't defeat the 20 minute sleep timeout by default. It gives you the option to disable it.
