I’m looking at some active speakers for my office which is 13’ x 13’. Locally the shop near me that handles producing gear has base model studio monitors like Adam T series and can get the A7H.
I’m also considering the Hedd A core options as well as a discontinued Elac Navis, all come in around the same price give or take a couple hundred.
The Hedd I’m a bit shy of getting based on a few posts here and other sites about reliability, and the Elac Navis have lots of reviews which mostly are favorable but I wonder if they are a bit much or not ideal in a small room near a wall.
Any opinions or thoughts would be great.

In that price range you can also look at Neumann KH120II, it's got really good measurements, more or less SOTA.

Ascilab also makes some stuff well worth considering in that price range, but mostly passive.

I had a similar problem in a small office where the speakers looked great on paper but the bass was too strong when they were close to the wall. The Adam A7H would probably be my safe bet, especially if you're listening locally first. I like the idea of the Elacs too, but at 13x13 they might be a bit too big unless you can pull them away from the wall. If it were up to me, I'd rather buy ones I can actually try out in the room. How close to the wall should they be placed?

Sorry missed your reply. I can get my speakers about 6" at minimum away from the wall and could probably get them up to 12" by moving my desk space around, but I share the office with my partner/kids with there desk so I can't hog all the space lol. I went and listened to some Adam T series and they are ok, I would definitely go up to the A7H model. I might just yolo and go Burckhardt Anniversary A10 at this point. I think I am out on the Hedd though.

I might to visit a place a few hours away to listen to the Neumann at some point as they seem well reviewed.

I have a pair of A7V in a squarish room (17'X18') and they sound great. If you're going to listen near field I'd stick to near field monitors and avoid the Buchardt A10, although those are good speakers.

I have had a pair of the neumann 120a on my desk office and would highly recommend you try them to see if they fit your space and meet your needs.
