I'm sorry for making what must be a 1000th thread on the same old topic, folks, but it's a pretty mighty task trying to scrape up the info myself now that I'm dealing with regular and very prolonged power outages and having no internet access. Can't afford to spend time online on much more than necessary and immediately pressing tasks.

So far I gathered that Edifier M60, MR3 and MR4/5 are good options in the ultra budget price range, but perhaps there's something somewhat better (better linearity, consistency/positional dependency, more predictable/controllable room interaction etc (don't think I need high volume or low bass, though suitability to mid-field listening would be very welcome, as I'd like to have more distance from the speakers and more leeway in positioning); to be had for a little more? Can't stretch my budget above $230.

Thank you for your reply and what seem to be great suggestions! Buying second-hand might be an option, though it might be quite a difficult task in my current circumstances. What's more is that, alas, it seems like even used these two options are beyond my budget. I'll try looking further for some lower prices offerings, though. Those speakers do seem very enticing.

Alas, these, too seem to be sold at a price well beyond my budget here. As PedroJoaquimBorges suggested, I'll try looking at second-hand offerings for these.
