I would like to know if anyone here that has an Acoustic Energy floor standing speaker has any suggestion for an amp they have or had used with them. I currently have a Buckeye amp rated at 150wpc in 8 ohms and the speakers are AE320 Mark II which I have not received yet. I replace my KEF R3 with these and the Buckeye amp seemed to drive them well. Any thoughts?

It will be fine unless you are trying to push things near maximum. Do you listen at ear piercing volume?

Not usually. Do you have AE speakers?
No; used to have an older model bookshelf speaker from them. That one had too much treble response for me, though it did sound nice otherwise.

Also. I run speakers that are rated for 100s of watts off much smaller output amps. You just need to know roughly how much you can turn it up before the amp hits its limits. Normally, that's more than I need.

The difference between 150W and 200W isn't a whole lot of volume due to doubling of power required for 3dB increase or whatever it is
