What kinda fascinates me is that he starts out AB- testing and with cables figures that's not going to work. Nobody were interested in his cheap cables, obviously had to be because they weren't expensive enough. Then he decides instead to sit down with the material and build a mythology for how the various materials supposedly affect the sound. Is this a too uncharitable reading here? Abyss and affiliates aren't looking too hot.

No, you are not. I got the same impression. He started off doing proper, double-blind, level-matched listening tests and found no audible differences between cables. So then he decides the correct test methodology he is following is wrong and starts doing sighted, non-level matched tests and finds differences in the sounds of different metals, dialectics and constructions. He then builds an entire mythology to justify his expectation bias. Finally, he concludes that his new methodology is correct and gets into the cable business.

He’s just another smooth talking charlatan trying to justify his snake oil. No need to find Part 2. It’s just the same old “cables are magic” BS.

Hi

This person sat down and realized that people can sell anything with the proper spiel and spins. He has to know that someone is currently vending their vagina scent !! Meanwhile there are some people (most of those can't hear past 10 KHz) but manage to hear the sound differences of various Ethernet cables. He/she then, put things like ethics aside and he/she starts making money!!. We're living in a time when people are famous for producing absolutely NOTHING... Some are famous for being,..., famous and make money for and off being..... well.... famous ... so why not sell some cables? By the time her/his market moves to the next better cable, he/she would have made some good amount of money. If you really want to understand what goes on, please visit some subjective audiophiles sites, you'll have an idea. In some of those sites, the idea of a $15,000 U ^$%%ckn' S B. yes people USB cable fazes no one and some even claim it makes even a cheap (!!??) $5000 DAC sounds almost as good as a $100,000 (these do exist people) audiophile DAC ...

So again, why not!

Just a money grab.

Wow I knew ABYSS' social media presence was unprofessional, but had no idea exactly how low they are prepared to go.View attachment 114816

They are getting backed into corners, and they are acting as though their livelihoods are at risk.

The thought of having to look for a way to make money through running an honest business must be terrifying for those who have simply taken advantage of others' ignorance for personal gain.

This is to be expected...

YIKES, imagine the level of butthurt to say some shit like this. Go cry to headphone measurement instrumentation companies, maybe they'll feel sorry for you and actually help you out into making better performing headphones.

1) Amir isn't "going on trying to endlessly debate". Heck, he (to my begrudging discontent) doesn't even allow much debate on his own forum to begin with. Actually, formally no debates are allowed, as there isn't a forum section for it.

2) You guys have a marketing and social media presence, to get the attention AND sales you desire. So nice double standard.

3) Banned from snake-oil forums? Oh no, for what? For trying to debate? So what you're saying is, he got banned by people so said people can shield their own cowardice?

4) He doesn't need your pity, and also if you say he's a smart guy, perhaps learn something from him that you can use to the benefit of your users and future customers that expect more. (Like stop making audiophool cables man, it's 2021 for goodness sake).

5) EVEN IF he was fired from Microsoft, why would that be an indication of anything relevant? Oh no, you get fired from a mega corp, that is somehow a character trait being spoken for? Hilarious notion (oh and Microsoft is a dogshit company now, so idk what you're talking about).

6) Yeah he found a path, where he would never need to debate you nor any other clown again, he'll let his headphone, speaker, DAC, and AMP graphs say everything better than any words could on the nonsense you and your friends peddle.

(Please post this there if you want to, I've moved on from Youtube almost completely for ever idiotic practices proliferating thanks to Google).

You'd think they have enough confidence in their product to just ignore ASR, given how alive and kicking the snake oil trade is in the consumer audio market, but this is butthurt crystal healing levels of bullshit and ad hominem.

All they had to do is market their cables as "quality" cables instead of sound changers. Foot in mouth again. Just like saying they will show their own "in house" distortion measurments for the V2......uh-huh, right next to your A/B cable test results from 30 years ago.

Its funny reading cable reviews on other sites though. Its like they use a random auto audio terms generator and press GO !

You can’t market $5,000 power cables as “quality” cables. No amount of marketing can justify charging $5,000 for $25 worth of materials. It’s pure thievery. Therefore one needs to make crap up to sell it to the gullible.

Someone needs to take this idea and modify it to generate audiophool jargon.

We've seen this before. The TotalDac guy and the reviewers who had gone to the wall for his (bad) five-figure DACs had a meltdown after Amir published measurements. Shortly after Amir posted the measurements, one audio reviewer posted YouTube videos ridiculing Amir and ASR before taking them down and quitting what seemed to be his job of audio reviewing.

A good deal on quality or overpaying for quality is still quality. The build quality is not in dispute, its their sound changing idea they are pushing that is. Still overpriced like their headphones. I really want to see their amps measured.

That site is exactly what I had in mind lol.
