About Tweeter Capacitor.

@solderdude
Thanks, now I'm VERY satisfied with how it sounds. Just need to test 6khz later when the inductor arrives.

I have a pair of this 1-way Full Range crossover (WEAH HB01). Could you or anyone give opinion about it from the photo ? I notice you mentioned something like LCR filter, which this item is described as
Brightness is in the 3-6kHz range which the tweeter does not do so any perceived brightness is in the FR driver.
That one can fix with a LCR filter.

The value of the capacitors are both 4.7uF, BUT the resistor is 3W1K8J , is that 1800 ohm ?? isn't it reducing the dB by too much ? Because my fullrange sounds not loud anymore so I don't use it. Or maybe I should remove that resistor to make it loud and use only what it filters without crippling the loudness?

The resistor is fine. It just lowers the Q factor a little or bleeds the capacitors when the switch is open.
Do you have the schematic. It may not be intended for that speaker.

I don't have it, it didn't come with one. The item is described as a 1-way Full range crossover/ LCR filter but yea it's not a custom made for specific speaker, it's a generic one.

Does this work as schematic ? I've mirrored the image so the location should fit

With my minimum knowledge about this, my 'Guess' would be : the fullrange will be xo-ed at 4311Hz , from this calculator

Using our previous calculator, that sounds about right, I have to use 4.7 uF capacitor to an added tweeter to match it at more or less/close to the same frequency
Screenshot_745.jpg

Am I right, or totally wrong lol ?
But why does it have 4.7uF cap in there too, it even has TWO caps 4.7uF, isn't it for tweeter to remove low frequency ? while the inductor is for cutting the high which is understandable. Or is it combined to 9.4uF which 10-33uF is used for mid driver.

Does this kind of Resistor work for tweeter ?

ok.. it is an inductor (unknown value) with a capacitor in parallel.
The switch can parallel an extra capacitor to it lowering the resonance frequency and giving a bit more treble.

The 3.3ohm will work in this case as there is hardly any energy above 20kHz.
