I came across this product that converts HDMI to analog 3.5 mm stereo. So it must have a DAC inside. How good or bad will it be?

In the powered "lifestyle" or whatever speaker category, the WiiM Sound and the new Samsung Music Studio 7 (with oversized waveguide!) look quite interesting. While I have always felt Sonos' speakers to have a kind of hollowness or sheen to the sound, that's not inherently necessary. I believe/hope we may start to see some convergence where DSP is applied to make speakers sound better in their particular space and maybe even control dispersion. Like a mini version of EAW's Anya PA!
