How about MK2 of the popular IK Multimedia iLoud MTM?

Retails for Us$400/each.

These are awesome computer speakers, due to their vertical orientation and space saving design.

First Gen was reviewed by Napilopez, I believe.

Announced today:

Amir, it would be interesting to see a line array system of some kind. Bose makes some small PA systems with line arrays for the mid/highs. They are inexpensive. They almost certainly have unusual radiation characteristics, and could have utility in a home setting.

This has been reviewed by so many people that I have been hesitant to ask for a sample to test. Is there a need for me to test it?
Hi Amir, thank you for your reply. I was just reading a review you did on an Ascend Acoustics speaker which had also been measured and reviewed elsewhere and you wrote "When I was offered this speaker for review at first I thought, well it was measured and tested elsewhere so maybe I need to pass. I am glad I did not and performed the review."

Not offering this as an complaint of any sorts, but I wonder if you might conclude the same about the D&D 8c. I am torn between the 8c and another speaker you have reviewed. Having your formal review of both would put my mind at ease, that is for certain.

Thank you for all you do!

DSpeaker Antimode X2? Not just SINAD, but more particularly the sonic improvements from the room eq, subwoofer integration, and its ease of use.
I offered to send the X2A and the X2D (have both) several times (together with an small atmos preav) , but did not receive any answer. So I think, that there is no interest in reviewing it.

So I think, that there is no interest in reviewing it.
That would be a real pity. I think convenient dsp room eq and subwoofer integration is far more interesting than the umpteenth Chinese DAC.

Hi … I have learned so much on this site and have saved ( well maybe spent less would be more accurate) tons of money….but lately I have been wondering why Amir has not done any subwoofer reviews. Would be great to touch on this area of mystery.

1 when to use one
2 why to use one
3 how to use one

they all seem pricy for what they do.

thank you for listening.

but lately I have been wondering why Amir has not done any subwoofer reviews.
I did do a single review a few years back. There are challenges involved:

1. Testing subs requires taking them outdoor and making ground level measurements in a large field. It rains most of the year where I live so not very practical to say nothing of it being a pain to do.

2. Speaking of pain subs are very heavy in general. The one I tested almost broke my back.

3. I am not a fan of current standards for subwoofer testing.

4. Rooms massively change the subwoofer output so what measurements show is a lot less useful than speakers.

All of this said, maybe one day I will test them but right now, it is not in the cards.

JBL also make equivalent PA line arrays to the above Bose unit, for example Eon One Mk2, and PRX One.
Thanks. Still too much money for me to go and buy just to review.

Naim DAC please. The big one.

As many are aware, Naim stockpiled a load of chips because they were uber special and discontinued. PCM1704K.

They have been in the flagship players of Naim for years and in this DAC. The DAC itself would be enough, but be interesting to hear the thoughts if it was used in conjunction with or without the 10 grand power supply! :)

Thank you for the answer, all makes perfect sense.
Some of my systems do not need subs, but the one that does, I will just trust the Denon Audyssey XT32 to get it close to right.

But You know it’s hard to get past that feeling that I must be tweaking my system or I am not a good audio person. You really make it hard to get out of chores and yard-work!!!

we can’t change cables
we can’t roll tubes
we can’t even have tubes
we can’t change capacitor s in our speakers
we can’t use old equipment
we can’t use power conditioners

BUT I HAVE SAVED SO MUCH MONEY, ITS JUST HARD SPENDING IT ON MY WIFE INSTEAD OF EQUIPMENT

LOL
