A Thread Dedicated to Cirrus Logic CS43131

Hi there

I'm looking for a USB-C to 3.5 mm jack adapter to use my wired 1more triple driver with my brand new Samsung s21 Plus that sadly doesn't have a proper 3,5 mm jack output. I have tried a 10 euro adapter bought on amazon from ESR brand but I haven't been very happy with that as the sound quality was better on my old Samung S9 Plus which have a direct 3,5 mm output.
I have seen this adapter from MEIZU but, apart from not finding it available on selling, I haven't understood the difference between the various MEIZU models. It seems that there is a standard MEIZU adapter that comes with the Conexant CX31993 while there is another more expensive that comes with the Cirrus Logic CS43131 ...what's difference between them?

received yesterday the Jcally Jm20 (with CS43131), and listening to music was never that good.. the audio output of the ThinkCentre Tiny and everything before that (via mainboard) is noisy and blurry.. the Jm20 delivers sharp sound.. the instruments are more separated from each other, and hit faster, and crisp, just less mushy.. listening with Q-jays in-ear.

Ok then but this doesn't answer to my first question, what's the difference between meizu with the Conexant CX31993 and the meizu with the Cirrus Logic CS43131?

The mblu HiFi (cx31993) is limited to 1Vrms, has more distortion and noise than the Apple A2049, but is still in production.
The Meizu HiFi (cs43131) can output 2Vrms, has very low distortion and noise, but is out of production and no longer available.

Ok then, so the to have the Cirrus Logic i need to look for some other brand? I suppose that one is the Jcally Jm20, is there something else?

iBasso released a dual CS43131 some days ago FWIW.

So the difference between the 2 is perceptible with some good earphones. I personally have 1more triple driver earphones which are good.

Here is a review of something similar...

The one of the review has the Conexant chip while this one https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005...00030607323701!sea&curPageLogUid=mEr3ikFSWR6L it's of the same brand by looking at the construction but has the the Cirrus Logic 43131. I wonder if anyone has ever tried this one.

I have receved today the JCALLY JM20 it seem to have a good audio quality but the keys for vol up/down and middle from the earphones don't work with it. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus. They did work with the generic adapter that I have bought at first...

Anyone?

Well- I would suggest you are out of luck.

Most of my dongles dont work (fully) with the inline controls on earphones.

My Meizu hifi (pro and non pro) can use the middle (play/pause) but not volume

L&P W2- none

Apple USB C dongle- full function

Obviously depends how they are wired up to handle TRS/TRRS jacks

I just got a JCALLY JM30 dongle with the CS43131. I could not be happier. This plays so well with my phone that I have no desire for a DAP. I had a $700 DAP with AK chips and while I can not compare directly I feel that the JM30 is a better listen. The JM30 impresses me more than the DAP ever did.

I just ordered JCally AP20 on doubles CS43131.
When it arrives, I can compare with my other DACs

So, my DAC came to me yesterday. After listening and comparing with the Topping G5 and the desktop SMSL M300ce, I will briefly write my impressions:
Workmanship: perfect - aluminum and glass
Sound: typical of the CS43131 - clear, transparent, with deep bass, melodic vocals and a very wide stage. Very similar to the Sonata BHD Pro.
In terms of technicality, presentation of musical material, elaboration of plans, resolution, the kid is slightly inferior to the Topping G5 that I have. But the price is 4 times lower
My headphones, even at low gain at Max volume, it is already difficult to listen, loudly. At max volume it plays cleanly, without distortion. Planar 25Ohm, 99dB, membrane 108mm, magnets "N58"
I have a mobile 4x OPA1612 class AB amplifier, it has a measured 300mW into 32 ohms. And I can say that at 4.4mm balance, this matchbox-sized kid is more powerful. That is, in my case, it gives more current than my palm-sized amplifier.
It can either be charged from the phone during the game, or use its own battery exclusively. You can recharge the DAC from the power bank right in the process.

Overall: very good DAC

P.S. Now and want more and thinking about IBasso DX170 DAP (dual CS43131)
