An important point often missed by both his supporters and detractors.Peter Belt is interesting in that he at least stated openly that he was influencing the listener as opposed to the sound waves.

We can’t use the R-word on ASR, but it may be of interest to look at the parallels for your audience. This group is skeptics, not audio people
I have to say that I am convinced Peter S. Belt, no matter how self-deluded, was sincere. One can not say the same for magic wires, fuses, rocks, etc.An important point often missed by both his supporters and detractors.
Ha ha, those grounding boxes. I'm guessing that it's a farmer who was putting up an electric fence and and in connection with knocking down the grounding spikes
So @j_j, is your talk more about the products themselves, or about they way they are sold to the public, or the cult like following that some of these products accumulate?
So all three then, good! It's about how human perception can be tricked via expectation, advertisement, malicious presentation, etc
Well, at least it’s not mercury…m the stuff they put in thermometers
Teo Audio’s stuff. Including the cables made from the stuff they put in thermometers
To add to the fun, they appear in Audiogon and are the *most* insufferable <ahem>s.
Weird, as the thumb drive could have a file of greater resolution than Redbook. Same with streaming (at least circa 2024).This thread reminds me:
A while back, I auditioned a set of loudspeakers at a local, small high end audio store, run by one of your classic idiosyncratic audiophile proprietors.
When I suggested that I would just bring some of my test music on a thumb drive, or asked if he had streaming, he said no thumb drives or streaming allowed. it was his conviction that music from my thumb drive or streaming, even lossless, could not be high enough quality. And that if I was to bring any of my own music, it must be in the form of CDs.
(this made me laugh inwardly. I had to resist telling him that my own work was computer audio based, routinely spit out through God knows what type of anti-golden-ear paths to FTP sites, and downloaded to be played in million dollar mixing Studios… without any sonic loss),
So I complied. And I guess I wasn’t too surprised when I was sat in front of the speakers to watch him “ demagnetize” every CD I wanted to listen to.
(the speakers sucked by the way).
I can confirm that in 2025, that is still the caseWeird, as the thumb drive could have a file of greater resolution than Redbook. Same with streaming (at least circa 2024).
