A problem that only Aussies have...

Roo attacks professional boxers, place your bets now.

My mother lives in Australia, near Newcastle. She’s an avid golfer, and quite competitive despite her youthful 87 years. Her golf course had lots of kangaroos, but the bigger issue is the poisonous snakes. If balls go to certain wooded areas of the course, it will take careful time and some bravery to get them back.

She claims it’s a bigger problem for men who want to go pee in the woods…

Question: I see roos can deliver some bruises but are there actual human fatalities or serious life injuries. From the videos it looks like far more bark than bite.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw it a while ago. It sure looks a bit faked. Seems maybe not though.

Looks like an old drive in horror flick. Still looks CGI to me but reportedly is real. I'm hiding in the basement till further notice.
Telephoto lens alters the perspective.

I would rather have kangaroos than what you Americans have.

I’m surprised that “Florida man” hasn’t attempted to ride that alligator like a golf buggy and strap their clubs to its back

I have no idea!

My mom says that they try to avoid getting close to the big males. Sometimes balls fall close to them and they elect to play a new one. She states that if you get close they make a noise like hissing. They avoid it. Females and joeys are far more docile.

A quick search suggests deaths due to wild kangaroos are very rare but they do happen - one in September 2022 was the first recorded since 1936. Serious injuries happen more often (broken leg in July 2022 for example) but aren't exactly common.

There was another widely reported death in a US zoo but they guy was known for wrestling with them:
