I would rather have kangaroos than what you Americans have.

That thing looks like special effects from Jurassic Park! When I lived in Florida, I would go to everglades and see them all the time but none that huge!

I thought the exact same thing when I saw it a while ago. It sure looks a bit faked. Seems maybe not though.

Looks like an old drive in horror flick. Still looks CGI to me but reportedly is real. I'm hiding in the basement till further notice.

Latest tragedy with gators - in this case an eleven plus footer - couple canoed over the gator and it capsized. The women fell on the gator and was pulled under. The husband was unsuccessful in efforts to rescue.

By the way, we have crocs here as well and they are are in Central Florida now. Conservation efforts have been quite successful.

I enjoy river rafting with a guide. I had an opportunity for a lottery private raft trip through the Grand Canyon, but turned it down because they were not preparing seriously for food. I have been very fortunate to raft the Zambezi River below Victoria Falls. It has commercial rafting companies with dozens of rafts on the river each day. I swam parts of it intentionally and by accident. It has crocodiles.

Recovered, the woman has raised funds for building a school in Zambia.

It’s quite a trip ain’t it?, back in 94 I did a 7 day canoe/camping trip above the Zambezi with my cousin from Harare & his mate (professional wildlife guide)…….crocodiles all over the banks and hippos everywhere which really freaked me out…their mouths are so feck8ng massive  , then we did the full rapid run shearwater rafting/paddling trip below the falls, I got viciously bucked out of the raft on a number of occasions and was so glad of the helmet as I came into contact with a few rocks, amazing 6 month trip for the 22yr old me from rural Scotland…..really opened my eyes.

Haven’t looked at my Zimbabwe pics for years so I’m away to find the album in the cupboard :)

I was there with Shearwater Rafting in about August 1994. I was on a 6 week overland truck tour, with Harare as our last stop. The guides would try to flip the rafts so the photographers could sell dramatic shots to the rafters. That caused the unintentional swim. So we survived to be on ASR.

We “almost” met :D , I went out November 94 till Jun 95, canoe/rafting from 15th Dec to 24rd Dec then back for Xmas at cousins house in Marlborough, Harare.

I’ll hunt a pic out and post it, think I have one of me getting thrown into water

Here we go, that's me in blue helmet/legs/boots heading into the water at the back of the pic, think this was towards the biggest/roughest rapids as the water level was low which made rafting harder

Drying boots out later at the camp, they were "Camel Trophy" boots so when I got back home I sent them this pic and few others, thanking them for making such decent boots and they sent me a free pair and used a few of my pics in their marketing/advertising blurb.
