A new Kef speaker? The Kef LS Luxe

To be honest, aesthetics aside, KEF is not really offering anything particularly innovative.

I don't know many current loudspeakers with voice coil position control like as their new LS Luxe.

I do like them aesthetics wise, of course. Haven't heard them. But reading about them, makes me think "LS50 Wireless III Meta". I don't see the huge jump.

They state lower lows and I guess AB amp on the HF is more to appease the market since it seems they're not willing to let go of the notion of Class D being inferior in spite of specs and measurements.

I will say I was hoping for a "bookshelf Blade". Imagine something like a KEF KII3". Like cutting off the top 1/4th of the blade and having the UniQ in front with two KC62 drivers one on each side. I thought they were going for that.

Also, whether we agree with it or not, there is such a thing as Vinyl Renaissance and it's a shame to see some other companies putting the phono in on their active speakers.

I do like them. A lot of good features. I think the shape will attract a lot of women buyers and they're rising in numbers in audio world. I love it when it's not JUST the aesthetics or JUST the specs. If it's a serious blend of the two, all power to you.

Something like this (horribly put together in 1 min. just to elucidate what I mean):

A bookshelf version of the blade. It would look great visually and with two KC62 drivers, this could play like heaven.

Would love to see measurements.

It integrates VECO and a current drive amp for low frequency distortion control.

I'm not expecting miracles from a 6.5", so they would still benefit from one or two subs, and there are sub outs.

One thing to notice upfront: the driver is bigger than on LS50/wireless.

Would guess the typical coaxial diffraction issues which due to symmetry are accentuated on-axis, thankfully in the listening window and off-axis they are not an issue, that's why it is usually recommended to never fully toe-in such to your listening position.

I really do like them, I just don't see the "quantum-leap", but ok, even if it was time for new LS50 Wireless, I'm fine with it.

Probably, it just looks a bit worse than the previous Uni-Q drivers that were measured by ASR or Erin. Might be because this is a fairly large excursion 6.5" with a different shape while the previous ones are either smaller or more frequency limited.
