The tweeter struggles as soon as you turn the volume up a bit; take a look at its distortion and dynamic range compared to that of the L50 Wireless II on Erin Audio Corner.I’m willing to bet that the LS Luxe’s midrange will also be much more dynamic and have less distortion than that of the LS60. Between 700 Hz and 2 kHz, the LS50WII is on a par with the LS60; the LS Luxe will perform better thanks to its 16.5 cm driver and 50 per cent greater enclosure volume!

I heard the ls60 and would say they have more akin to the ranges up than the ls50. Ymmv

Active speakers are a big yes for me, I have (and had) several, but rather not have speakers with integrated steamer / wifi.

Possible but not a sure thing IMO, will be interesting to see how it shakes out.We’ll have to wait for Erin’s verdict, but I don’t think the LS60 + sub is better than the LS Luxe plus sub; in fact, I think it’s the other way round

I'm not going to say it's impossible but a big advantage of active speakers like this one is having protection against driver damage. I'd say it would take some skill to make the Luxe do this if it's possible at all.

I can't get past the decision that they really use a silver driver on the white version. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
Jokes aside, even if I'd consider to buy a pair I couldn't because the LS50 Meta white version looks so much better with the combination white/bronze. Also a bit disappointing that they use AI genertaed images instead of organizing a real product shooting.
I’m not necessarily objecting to either design (Klipsch with the walnut color please
). At least they offer Dirac Live.

OK, ok... so, an image like this really catches my eye! Not the gratuitous placement of vinyl ephemera itself as much as... that "turntable"! It looks cheap. Very cheap.
But it didn't quite ring a bell for me, so - and I am not proud of this!
- I snagged a copy of the image, whittled it down and asked googles image search thingy.Here's what it turned up.
Is KEF implying that their savvy yet style-conscious market will be (or should be) pairing it with a $139 USD Crosley? Or are they inferring that the market of folks who buy a $139 USD Crosley record player are just itching to buy a pair of their Luxe active loudspeaker solutions?
Either way -- perhaps we should be pleased with the dystopan future of AI killing us all in its relentless pursuit to make more paper clips.

Yes the LS60 is also a three way , important with kef coaxials , so it’s practically a 4 way as I use mine with dual subs .
I think the kef coax is best used as treble and midrange and the speakers should be 3 way ? Crossed at about 300-400 hz as most 3 way kefs.
LS lux with subs , one migth want to choose a higher crossover and use dual stereo subs ? But the coax will work deeper into to the bass .
….and the ls60 has a small coax with small treble and midrange. The ls lux uses a bigger driver ? Ho hum who knows what gives

You counter act power compression this way as the VC resistance does not matter anymore and this changes with the temperature of the VC.
But EQ is necessary as the fr can be more wonky with current drive , but in a DSP this is a given too .

I am not at all convinced of that. The Crosley was blotted out but the general Gestalt is delightfully similar.
The feet are silver instead of black on the KEF. I would wager, were I so inclined, that it is from the same OEM, and similarly cheap.

I mean, Clearaudio, I just learned a couple of days ago, still make the TT-15S1 variant of their old "Emotion" tt for marantz! The prices have fairly skyrocketed on the latter since I bought one (a demo unit), a long, long time ago.

Comes with a cartridge (essentially an Audio-Technica rebadge/rebody) but needs a preamp/EQ
Mine's packed up in its original box upstairs, because, although it is attractive, it's pretty junky overall.
The little CA/Souther "Clever Clamp" was the best part of it; and I actually do still use that sometimes!
