Hello there!

I was unsure if to post this here or in the AMP section, I actually leaned towards here, oddly.

I did some research and on an extremely tight budget I found the Sony STRDH190 for £179 and the QA Concept 20 for £229.

I have the Samsung NU8000 and TV sound is awful, we KNOW TV sound is awful, I haven't heard good TV sound possibly ever. THAT BEING SAID the NU8000 actually amazed me with it's sound!! However ...... It's still TV sound. So for movies, games, TV shows, and music, I wanted a nice little bump in audio quality (NOT VOLUME) when sitting in front of my TV - STEREO not surround.

I will be listening at LOW volumes 99.9% of the time so I just want some nice 2 channel sound on my super small budget.

ANY advice would be ideal, I am settled on the speakers but with regards to the AMP is there a better alternative? Thank you!

A second hand Denon x2400h might be interesting! I picked one up for €250 a while ago, and it basically does everything you need (4k, HDR, Atmos, EQ etc) and gives you room to expand your speaker setup down the line. It also has Audyssey Room Calibration (comes with a calibrated mic), and supports the Audyssey app as well. Sound quality is great to my ears. I use a Q Acoustics 3XXX surround setup with a BK sub.

Thank you very much Sir, I actually want a stereo AMP as you get more for your money IMO (only 2 channels required vs 5+ in a box)

What about the all-in-one Loxjie A30, then?

Someone actually just suggested a second hand Marantz PM6005

If you go the 6005 route, make sure you get the remote control with it. There's no hdmi in on those things, only optical, and using an optical connection will prevent you from using your TV's remote to change the volume.

Great tip. Thank you!

Take a look at Edifier lineup with tight budget.

Didn't actually understud the part "I am settled on the speakers"(edit: never mind that, got it Concept 20, my bad).
If you want good DAC with bit stream decoding (Dolby's) that part is a bit complicated. Sound BlasterX G6 is good but then you need power amp with remote control (for volume control). AIYIMA A07 unfortunately doesn't have one.

QA Concept 20 at moderate volumes, for sure.

The fact that this includes a DAC (You could use your TV straight from Toslink output), and does seem to be more reliable. The Sony is still more powerful, tho.

???
Here, I guess:View attachment 119866

OH GOSH I am sorry I was looking at the D30

Can not find it on Amazon unfortunately and won't buy from elsewhere due to awkward returns - something vital wih blind audio purchases.
