I am not paying a breathtaking 15 bucks extra for some weird extra app like Roon because audio discovery. And I have APO for all my EQ needs.
But not being able to remote control the app like with Spotify is terrible. I wish Spotify would bring lossless already, their codec just isn't transparent.
Or is there another music streaming service like Tidal that has lossless quality but where I can actually remote control the desktop app from my phone.

It's just a horrible audio experience to have a big screen running all the time when I just want to listen to music.

Just a few things to note, make sure to enable gapless playback under Renderer settings in the bubbleupnp or mconnect app and if you use foobar, you'll need to install the "UPnP/DLNA Renderer, Media Server, Control Point" component which only works with the 32bit version of foobar. Jriver has built in UPnP/DLNA capability and just needs to be enabled.

I went the Foobar/mConnect route and that works surprisingly well. Even paid for the adless/no tracking version of mConnect. Many thanks for the help

Hmm sorry reading this I did not pick up how you now control the TIdal pc app?
Or do you use the Tidal Android/IOS App and transmit that via foobar/mconnect?
