A Call For Humor!

At least I have not bought a duck press for the kitchen :) edit: or special artichoke plates
we have a grapefruit knife, for lack of a better word. It's an intriguing little gizmo. The essence of it is a small, slightly springy, thin metal blade, curved near its tip and sporting with a finely serrated edge. We don't eat grapefruit, but I admire the tool's impertinence (EDIT: ... or, if you prefer, by its presumption -- see below), so it gets to live in that drawer in the kitchen.

That drawer.
You know the one.

Kitchens are peak workshop furniture!
Yes those are fine '80s Sematic brand German cabinets in the kitchen from 1984-2004 when they were moved the garage in massive home remodel. Love the roll-out shelves that are still going strong with many heavy tools inside.

Sounds like a typical fruit knife to me, serrated is ideal for for fruits and berries with softish skin like plums and figues. The siebling of (French) tomato knifes, of which I am a fan :)
