Look up cognitive dissonance in the Oxford Dictionary of Whatever Oxford Dictionary Would Have a Phrase Like Cognitive DIssonance, and that's what you'll find.
I do remember from some past exposure to this apparation (likely earlier in this very thread, possibly multiple times*) that it's a real, extant, corporeal thing.

I refuse to engage with people who are wearing green AND blue together upon their clothing.
My therapist called it that CD thingy and consoled me, when I told her that the green+blue combo causes a conflict at my eyeballs and that stresses me out.

So, there's good biological reasons for the blue-green thing; and the detection of colors in the blue to green part of the spectrum run into something of a -- ahem -- no man's land between men & women. It's a source of much jocularity in my household. Well, one of us sees it as jocularity. :)

(In fact, 'twas Major B.F. "Hawkeye" Pierce who imitated Fr. Mulcahy intoning Jocularity.)

Holy Toledo! Haven't seen that face in a long time.

I have no opinion on the case. It was such a long time ago, all I remember were the feds + news crew from all over the country descending on Alice. As you know, Alice is a bit dangerous. Even as a pretty tall guy I never went anywhere without going as a group, particularly after dark. When the feds came, suddenly the town became safe. The daily robberies and random petty crime stopped. It made me wonder how much better it would be if there was a larger permanent police presence.

I suppose the only humour in ^the topic^ is dark humour?

I usually get invited to be a companion in the after dark group.
Not because I am tall, but because I am the slowest runner.

Why do we say that?
For me "Holy Toledo!" is only ever a reference to that TV show. Max Klinger was from Toledo, as he never tired reminding everyone, and was disposed to exclaim thusly.

And partly for this reason as a teenager in Glasgow, as ignorant of the USA as any other Scottish teenager, I noticed that I was able to name four towns in Ohio, when I could manage at best two for any other state. I knew Toledo is in Ohio because Klinger.
