As a biologist* I note with interest the two-headed mutant.

* I know I claim to be a biochemist, and, practically speaking, I am, but interestingly both of my degrees say "Biology" on them. There was essentially zero organismal biology goin' on at my alma mater, though.

Or, simply call the moment the cat is jumping out "Schrödinger's Klippel"
Schrödinger's cat is a reductio ad absurdum argumentum... with a ridiculous conclusion—that a cat could be simultaneously dead and alive until observed.
Schrödinger intended it as a paradox to mock the idea that the observation itself creates the reality.

If you smell poop around the mailbox (w/o opening it): Dead cat inside.
If you smell urine: Live cat inside.
Open-and-shut case and cats don't have the IQ to do quantum mechanics. Duh!

And yet, we don't know any better, the paradox remains unsolved and quantum mechanics remains the best description we have of the microscopic world.

I've long considered cats as the quantum carriers of entropy, though.
EDIT: Perhaps in this scholarly context, they could be dubbed Felons -- with a long e, and emphasis on the first syllable; i.e., rhyming with Elon.

... and, for better or worse, I understand thermodynamics considerably better than I do quantum mechanics.

I have a bit of understanding of both so I won't let you off with that. What on earth is a quantum carrier of entropy"?
