The bricks analogy is inappropriate. If we want a musical instrument analogy for particle physics, here's how to go: When we smash two pianos together at high speed, what comes off is not pieces of broken pianos but various kinds of fully functional musical instruments. We get horns, clarinets, violins, drums, etc. Often some of these instruments almost instantaneously convert to still other instruments. For example, a violin might soon become a flute and a piccolo. What's of interest is not the pianos we start with, but all the different instruments that come off in the collision. The excitement of this search is about to observe a brand new instrument, so far not seen in any human orchestra.View attachment 551065
Define CERN.
"It’s like covering a piano in a dark room and throwing bricks at it to understand how it’s made, based on the sound,”
Then, the pushback starts about "at what cost?"The excitement of this search is about to observe a brand new instrument, so far not seen in any human orchestra.
You raise an excellent point. If you can't postpone that thing today, wait until it's too late.
Procrastinators for peace.
I'll count it as a win if just a few go "Maybe we should try to teach them how to behave before that point"

I was an EE in the company who had won the first-lot contract of the GPS satellites that were to be sent up to orbit.
During a local party, I was douched (w/fingers being darted in my face) by a liberally-minded couple, as to how useless and money wasting it was for a satellite-based global positioning system, and those funds would've been 'more wisely spent' on the poor folks starving...
BTW, this mower might scare a bear off
But it is somewhat ambiguous - a man might have ruined the rim while looking at a woman
I read seal levels....
War is a VERY popular human sport, and they don't use referees! Procrastinators should really have a go at it. Eventually. As long as they don't loose themselves in the process. People should guard and take good care of their personality. You raise an excellent point.
I doubt that any of us procrastinators has ever started a war.
I mean, we might, when we get a round to it, but that's gotta wait...
