A Call For Humor!

This is one for the Cantonese speakers. There is an English translation, but it is way more hilarious in Cantonese. "Sohai" = "stupid c*nt". It rolls of the tongue so naturally in Cantonese.

Whether it's offensive or not depends on the intonation and context. That's one of the great things about the Chinese language. You might use it as a term of endearment, e.g. it's something you might call your best friend. But you can't use it on a stranger, it's really offensive. Which is why that pedestrian got so angry.

Between the Hulk Hogan Uma Thurman mashup and this I have lost track of how many times I've had to say "It isn't what you think" to people that walk by while I'm on this page. :D
I sometimes feel that way when my wife walks by and I'm perusing this thread.
Additionally, sometimes I laugh out loud at something I see here (e.g., Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Cyber Truck recently posted by @Brian Hall ) and she invariably asks (with less snark than it may seem in print) what's so funny?
I mean, that one wasn't so bad... but some of the other ones I laugh at... well... I'd really rather not go into it, you know?

Surprise, surprise :)
