hmmm... for me, the fun of data analysis is thinking of clear, interesting ways to visualize it, with the ultimate goal being to understand what the data are "telling us".
Some other folks think (or at least thought) similarly. Edward Tufte, e.g.,

Our first cat, Griswold, liked to help my wife type -- in the days when the computer was a minitower set next to a desk with a 28.8k modem to connect to the world. She would occasionally leave his contribution to emails she sent me at work in those long-ago days.
